Exactly 1 year ago my show was host to an idea I had in my head of meshing together some important tracks that steered my taste in electronic music as a whole. Flash forward 1 year and I find it appropriate to continue that tradition. The tracks compiled for Classics Retrospective 2 are tracks that I came across after listening to much of the influences from the first compilation. I sought out the Underworld and Paul van Dyk tracks and noticed that certain DJs were mixing them. These DJs were obviously Sasha and Digweed. Though I had no idea who they were at the time or even if Sasha was a male, the fact that they played the tracks I was interested in solidified my like in them. Cliché? Maybe. But back in the 1999 and 2000 there was a lot of cheese and a little sophistication. I tend to like my sophistication. And so, what you will hear is a slice of intelligence that my ears enjoyed way back then... and still do today.
