I already had made plans for a special b-day at the St. Pete Times Forum during one of the Lightning games for the girlfriend's dad. Had a bunch of stuff lined up and finally got it all ironed out with the suits. Guess we'll have to plan for something else now.

i dont think its about the players being money hungry.. i think it's more about sharing revenue for small market teams...the players want changes in contract structures making them free agents after certain amount of seasons and things like that..
team owners want salary caps and rules in place so that the whole sergei federov going to carolina offer doesn't happen again and raises the players salaries to much..
of course players want the most money they can get, but by far nhl players are the least money hungry...unlike the nba, mlb or nfl, nhl players play for the love of the game, they play through injuries and work hard every game.....
