    Release Notes:

    01. Madben & Yann - Neighbours [Bedrock Records | Beddigi44]
    02. Madben & Yann - Breathe [Bedrock Records | Beddigi44]

Bedrock welcome exciting duo Madben & Yann to the family with their label debut 'Breathe / Neighbours'.

A French pairing of youth and experience. Madben first broke onto the scene off the back of his electric festival sets across France in 2012. It was the following year that he really made his mark on the production front with his singles 'Alphecca' and 'Dual' (with Ian O'Donovan).

Yann, DJ, composer and sound engineer for over fifteen years is an aritst noted for the quality of his studio skills. Having finally stepped out of the musical shadows of others in 2012, Yann found instant success with first productions alongside Tristan Consalvi (Yann & Tristan). Together with Madben he looks to launch into 2014 in grand style with the release of their Bedrock double header.

    03. Gregor Tresher & Petar Dundov - Taurus [Break New Soil Recordings | BNS044]

The stars rarely align between Gregor Tresher and Petar Dundov's hectic schedules. But when they do, techno planets collide with explosive results.

This earth-shattering production partnership began in 2011 with the still-stunning 'Duo Tone' EP on Music Man. A trio of releases have followed during the last three years, including the almighty 'Superconductor' on Cocoon 100 last summer.

Fresh for 2014, the German/Croatian pact goes next-level with this firing slab of rich, majestic techno on Gregor's own imprint Break New Soil. Living up to its name, 'Taurus' ignites with bullish precision. Pummelling with a classic palpitating bass and kick roll, percussive elements are gradually introduced before the shimmering riff enters the fray. Tingling with every twist and tweak, this will raise hairs on the back of every neck with a ten mile radius.

For added measure, the duo have also included the Chord mix. Galvanising the same rhythmic mischief with full focus on the undulating bass, it's slippery, slinky and drenched in drama. A perfect DJ tool to tease in with the original mix, or a heads-down mission into the darkest corners of the dancefloor: this version ripples and ruffles in equal measure.

Finally we hit 'Flux'. Taking a slightly softer, more melodic approach, here we find Gregor and Petar weaving a tight web of rushy arpeggios and subtle rhythmic keys. Arranged with detailed dynamism, every element spirals and surges to create full crowd meltdown.

A truly special release, we can't wait until Gregor and Petar's schedule stars align again!

    Release Date: 05.03.2014

    04. Gary Beck - Painting Card (Ten Year Weekend Compilation - A Decade Of Darkroom Dubs) [Darkroom Dubs | DRD10]

2013 saw Silicone Soul celebrating the 10th Anniversary of their Darkroom Dubs imprint. Launched in Glasgow back in 2003, the DRD stamp has become a mark of quality and seen many established names exploring deeper realms whilst also unearthing fresh and exciting global talent.

From Fabric to Watergate, The Standard Rooftop to Club Bahrein Buenos Aires, the Scottish duo have celebrated their disco-decade with a string of '10 Year' parties spread across the last 12 months, building on Darkroom Dubs already strong global reach.

To round off their birthday in style Craig and Graeme have asked some of the label's main acts and strongest supporters to contribute a track for a new compilation. Artists including jozif, Ryan Crosson, Uner, Gary Beck, Of Norway and Simon Garcia all feature in the collection that Silicone Soul present as a snapshot of the future sound and musical vision of Darkroom Dubs.

Due for release Feb 24th 2014 on double 12" vinyl and download.

    05. Hot Since 82 - Planes & Trains (Dosem Remix) [Suara | SUARA119]

Planes & Trains from Hot Since 82 was released on a Suara compilation a year ago. It was one of our biggest tracks and we knew that we had to give it a second life.

"Planes & Trains Remixes" consists in four tracks, we have the Original Mix from the same Hot Since 82 and also three remixes from three top artists: wAFF, Dosem and Fairmont. Each remix it's very different from the other so we ended up with a very eclectic EP. Check out how we have revived a cut that never died!

Big support from: Felix Da Housecat, Stacey Pullen, Karotte, John Digweed, Dubfire, Paco Osuna, Vince Watson, Pig&Dan, Slam, Tube & Berger and many more!

    06. Amber - The Story [Mobilee Records | MOBILEE124]
    07. Amber - Waves Of Grain (Hobo's Hidden Resort Remix) [Mobilee Records | MOBILEE124]

Kevin McHugh aka Ambivalent officially launches his new Amber project with 'Wave of Grain', his debut EP for Mobilee Records. Beginning life as a part a one-off collaboration Jake & Amber on Minus - which resulted in This Is Mine, perhaps the most house track the label ever released - Amber captures the lighter side of McHugh's sound, which shone through in his Ambivalent work, notably via the mischievous vocals of Down or the disco groove of his Plus 8 EP Jackson.

Having spent his career to date as part of the Minus collective, Amber marks the starts of a new phase in McHugh's career - no longer obligated to confine his sound to within a very specific label aesthetic, the New York via Berlin producer now enjoys the freedom to take his sound into new area, with Amber representing the house end of the various projects he now has in motion, while his main Ambivalent guise has already begun to widen its scope, with appearances on Turbo, Cocoon, Ovum and Soma in the past couple of years.

Tasked with finding a home for the new Amber sound, Anja Schneider's Mobilee label was the perfect fit for Waves of Grain's combination of fleet-footed house and darker techno undercurrents, and so it proved upon the huge reception for the track's test plays in recent Schneider sets.

The A2, Space Album, makes the distinction of the Amber project from McHugh's previous work even more explicit, with a rubbery synth melody and swinging beat putting the funkier elements of his sound front & centre.

The vinyl edition of the EP packages the two tracks with a remix from Hobo, which takes the low-slung style of the original and pumps it up into an unashamedly big room house track that's sure to appeal to anyone who went crazy for Hobo's 2013 summer anthem Incise.

The digital edition, out a week after the vinyl, comes with its own exclusive in the shape of The Story, a melancholic counterpoint to the EP's title track, with its dueling male and female vocal samples supplementing a disarmingly light melody underpinned by a stealthy pulsing rhythm.

    08. Phil Kieran - Six Trak (Computer Games EP) [Phil Kieran Recordings | PKRD021]

Inspired by the dawn of personal computing back in the 1980's when 8-bit video games first appeared in our homes on machines like the Atari, Spectrum ZX or even Phil's own first computer - the Commodore Vic20. 'Computer Games' tips a nod back with it's eerily addictive end-of-level hook and abstract stabs combining to create a piece further influenced by the likes of Kraftwerk and Yello.

'Six Trak' is titled in honour of the legendary Sequential Circuits 'Six Trak' analogue-synth from the same era, which has recently taken up residence in PKR Studios. Composed entirely from 'Six Trak' sounds (apart from the drums) and recorded live on the fly with no sequencing, 'Six Trak' is a lesson how timeless simplicity never goes out of fashion.

Keep an eye out for the PKR Series 2 Compilation landing in your inboxes soon with mixes from Chloe, Justin Robertson, Harvard Bass and many more.

    09. Derek Howell - Objectivity (Underground Sound Of Miami Series 3) [Bedrock Records | BEDMIAMICD3]

Underground Sound Of Miami Series 3 2xCD Unmixed/Mixed Pre-order. Released March 17th and will be shipped just before the release date.

10 totally exclusive tracks from the third Undergound Sound Of Miami release from the mighty Bedrock label selected by John Digweed. Featuring some new artists to the label alongside some of the labels favourite producers in the form of Robert Babicz, King Unique, Darren Emerson and Dave Angel alongside an excellent bonus mixed version.

        Good week this one.

Nick Curly's mix along with Chymera's have been the standout guest mixes for me

Track id for last track is a josh wink track from 20 to 20 album (2003). It may have been a remix though...or still being mixed with the prior track.
