          Re: R.I.P. Big man

I had to come out of my long lasting sabbatical to pay my respects to Mr Knuckles.

I have a friend who is Frankie's biggest fan and when we went to see him play on his Def Mix tour at Hard Times in Huddersfield, England I'll never forget my mate getting down on one knee to shake Frankie's hand. All this took place at the entrance to the DJ booth in front of hundreds of people. Frankie looked a little embarrassed.

          Today is a sad day.

Can't really say I'm a huge fan nor follower of Frankie, however I can say that his pioneering work has lasted till this day and the future of our beloved house music.

R.I.P and a thank you cannot be enough for your efforts an work Mr. Knuckles.

                    Re: R.I.P. Big man

David Moarles made a tribute mix, such a great testament to the big guy:

                    https://soundcloud.com/davidmorales/david-morales-tribute-to

Also the Radio 1 released his Essential mix from September, 2000:

BBC Radio 1 - BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix, RIP Frankie Knuckles: The Godfather of House

Listening to these tracks do make you wonder how essential Frankie's work is, pioneering till this day in what is quint essentially house.

                    and RIP.
