Re: John Digweed's new Live In: Output

pre-orderd from Bedrock just to get get Simons smiley face signature on it

its an amazing CD series and while John keeps putting out such high quality Live In releases, I'll keep buying them.

we begged for years for live sets to be released.
paraphrasing freddie ' this is what you wanted, this is what you're gonna get!'

and just to be clear - The Mrs spends WAY MORE on wankie coffees in month, than the price of these SIX discs.

It's not me .. I just know about licensing etc. Scott D does all the Live In hard work and puts in countless hours on these releases ... so hats off to him.

Usually the older tracks are more difficult to clear .. but these are likely to be later on in John's set (as with Stereo) .. some of the older tracks were more recent e.g. the Innervisions music and Bedrock looks to have very good relations and a proven track record for supporting artists / labels with no messing them around.

The ATLANT label I run with BOg has 3 x tracks on here .. so we're very happy as this is great exposure for our music. The likes of John and Hernan have been big supporters

I'd say the CDs are pretty much complete ... thanks to Scott's hard work.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

Re: John Digweed's new Live In: Output

Here's the tracklist from his the bedrock shopping site. Unfortunately the late stages of the party appear to be missing as CD6 tracks do not sound anything like the disco house he was slamming on like the final 2 hours. If each CD was 60 min, that's "only" 6 hours, if 70 min each, that's still 7hrs, and if maxed out at 80 min, then 8hrs... .so missing a good 3hrs I would guess from the whole set. The last 2 hours had some really old tracks and understandably probably hard to clear them. Hopefully we can get an update like he did with Montreal.

So 8am rolls by and he's still banging it out.. then 9... then he finally hung it up at 10am!!! The last hour or 1.5 hrs, I he was in the wind-down mode b/c he played a lot of vocal house... but I think he was just having fun, plus it was the final show at Output... the club is set to close - I don't know the reason why... I'm sure someone here knows.

Even at 6, the floor was still full... I kept wishing it to empty out so we'd actually get space to dance! Granted by 9, and finally 10, you can visibly see many spaces on the floor but still a decent sized crowd.

When he went into the wind-down mode, it just hit me that we're in for something very special, this being the tail end of what turned out to be a 10 hour marathon set. I just kept grinning the whole time during the final hour. All in all, great night... pity Output is closing b/c it's a really nice, unpretentious club with good layout and a great sound system.
