                  the guestmix is most likely not for everyone, but for those who listen every week I am good with something a little different.

                  that guest mix however did prove to be a bit too manic for me and definitely not my cuppa tea

                      Haven't listened to this episode yet, so can't comment on the quality of the guest mix. But I've got no problem with John mixing it up a bit and trying to book someone slightly different occasionally. If he did it all the time, that's a different matter. Transitions would go the way of the Essential Mix, which I don't even bother listening to half of the time now.

                      There was one last year (I think - could have been the year before. I've lost track of time thanks to Covid), that was a bit different and did nothing for me. I remember a Yousef one that was just bland, generic house music and not a good fit for the show IMO. On the other hand, I remember Andrew Weatherall doing the guest mix (repeated again after his death) which was not the usual Transitions "sound" but was brilliant. But then, Andrew was a legend and I was pleased to see him appear on the show. A mix from him was always a treat - whenever and wherever it appeared.
