    the ultimate IQ society...

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Giga society was founded in 1996 by Paul Cooijmans, who has served
    as its Administrator since.
Giga Society is open to anyone scoring at or above the 99.9999999th
estimated unselected population percentile on any of the acceptable tests.
This means one in a billion individuals can qualify. The corresponding IQ,
expressed on a scale with a set standard deviation of 16, is 196,
respectively sd 15, an IQ 190.
There are currently six Giga members.

Main goal of Giga Society is to reward high-scoring performers for their
contribution to the study of the measurability of high intelligence, and particularly to the establishment of norms for the very high range.

These guys must be the most insufferably arrogant group of individuals you've ever met!

on a related note...i took my first actual IQ test ever (we don't take SATs here)...did pretty well. costs $10 and is highly correlated with several other (much more expensive) IQ tests.

try it here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Re: the ultimate IQ society...

its only $10 guys...when you realize it costs probably 10 times that to take an equivelant test which is proctored, its really pretty reasonable. plus its done by a bunch of grad students who probably could use the research money.

i did better than i though...136, which they said was 99th percentile. i just wanted to see how some others did, cause i thought that number might be a bit high.

People with an IQ of 196 are social deviants and basically savants with nothing but logic, math, and recall skills. Try having a conversation with one of those people. It's lonely at the top. In my opinion "being smart" is much harder to calibrate than simply clicking through test.

Here is a fun one that is unlike the typical IQ tests you find. It's free too.

    Re: the ultimate IQ society...

I took a Mensa IQ test here in the UK when I was 11 years old (my uncle thought I was gifted and was curious to see just how much so).

I got 164, which is 99th percentile. I wouldn't mind knowing what I would get nowadays

It's not a measure of cleverness though, more a measure of how logical you are with numbers. I bet those giga geeks couldn't tell you who ronaldinho is, or what a women's **** feels like!
