    Ben Korbel@Triple J Sydney October 2001

In reference to this thread http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/...ad.php?t=32230 and not to steal the thunder away from it, I open a new one for this “classic” 2001 mix.

But I need to confess that there is one track in the mix, I always had to skip because I was so sick of it that I made my own Edit with Soundforge in the end and cut it out… Iio – Rapture..by the time Ben’s mix came out, I listened to Trance mainly and every DJ played this track over and over and over..I was so sick of it and sadly it was one of those tracks the “cool progressive DJs” played as well (think even Digweed dropped it, Deep Dish anyway) so when “my” Trance DJs played it in a dozen remixes already, progressive DJs found out about that track and continued to play it….Yee Haaa oh the Fun.

The mix I uploaded is the original one though with that track included and besides my personal hate track, it is a perfect mix that helped me to cross the line from Trance to Progressive music.

I am more concerned to remember this track like it was yesterday knowing that I am not able to remember all my long time mates birthdays without Outlook or can be arsed to know my own cell phone number.

I was thinking a similar thought! As I distinctly remember hearing the ANthony and Korbel Feb 2002 Kiss 100 mix for the very first time and that amazing first track. Does not seem like 4.5 years ago!

Far out guys .. this is a blast from the past. Have you heard "Sounds Of Sydney" though? This was a promo CD that was passed around in the heydey of "Ben & Trent" that remains one of those legendary definers. I know I've got a copy around here somewhere...

ALSO! If you like this mix of Ben's (and who wouldn't - it's fucking awesome) then you can catch it on my Proton show, .AUdio, this coming Thurs/Fri along with a brand spanking new mix from Robbie Lowe and Danny Bonnici of Nubreed. It's one hell of a showcase of top shelf Aussie talent, that's for sure.

Check out more info on that here: http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/...ghlight=korbel

              Enjoy!
