    Excerpts from this book ..

"It has been reported that Tanuki fell from the sky using his scrotum as a parachute.
That is not so ridiculous when we take into account the unusual size of Tanuki's scrotum.
Well, okay, it's still pretty ridiculous?and no less so just because in relation to his overall body mass, Tanuki's scrotum is proportionately larger than the scrota of elephants, whales, and the Jolly Green Giant. In those days, his testicular balloon bag may actually have been even more voluminous than it is today, though that's difficult to imagine since his balls very nearly drag the ground as it is, and any increase in volume would surely have been an impediment to mobility if, indeed, not a source of some pain. There is also the possibility that Tanuki had (and perhaps still has) the power to increase or decrease scrotum size at will.
Yet, having said all that, we must concede that the role of anatomical size per se in Tanuki's descent is not easy to determine, and a more pertinent question might be not how the badger managed to use his significant seed sack to parachute to earth but, rather: Where did he parachute from? And why?"

"in the end, perhaps we should simply imagine a joke; a in joke that?s being continually retold in an accent too thick and too strange to ever be completly understood. life is that joke, my friends. the soul is its punch line."

"When socialism is pushed beyond a certain point, it becomes totalitarianism. Capitalism, on the other hand, if carried to its extreme, becomes anarchy."
I started reading that, but it did nothing for me. Recently finished The Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thompson.

Great book. Read it this summer while I was on vacation. The chapter about the porn industry is the best imo.

I'm currently reading "The Motorcycle Diaries" by Che Guevara. Just read a biography of him and decided to delve further into his psyche.

over the summer though i read Angels and Deamons and the Davinci Code. they were good. Also this one called Rouge Nation by Klyde Prestowitz which was my fav. Its about the history and current state of internationl and economic policy and how its making the US distance itself from the rest of the world

John Grisham-"The Testament" this is what it says ion the back of the book

"In a plush Virgina office,a rich, angry old man is furiously rewriting his will. With hie death just hours away,Troy Phelan wants to send a message to his children, his ex-wives,and his minions,a message that will touch off a vicious legal battle and transform dozens of lives."

"Enter the lawyers.Nate O'riley is fresh out of rehab,a disgraced corporate attorney handpicked for his last job: to find Rachel Lane at aby cost.As Phelan's family cicrles like vultures in D.C.,Nate is crashing through the Brazilian jungle, entering a world where death is just one misstep away, and where a woman-pursued by enemies and friends alike-holds a stunning surprise of her own.....
