Hastert, Podesta's confidante and friend, did get his wrist slapped with a candy-ass yearlong sentence, but it was for an offense committed decades ago. Maybe he got out of line and threatened to talk, so they used him as a sacrificial lamb. I would not be surprised if it's part of the blackmail system, can't wait for it to be burned down.
