Thinking of purchasing the Herules MK2 integrated MP3 player and mixer. I was humoring this idea before I save up and purchase the CDJ 800's. I was wondering if anyone in the neighborhood has bothered with the Hercules and if so, what is your review. Is it good, bad or just whatever. This is strictly for bedroom work for me, nothing really public. I'll be working with CDJ's for that, anyhow please let me know what your thoughts are.
Cheers,

the hercules is a great system for starters but it basically does the work for you. if you want to mix in real time buy the cdj 800 or even better the cdj 800 MKII. thats how most club mixing is.

I have a hercules dj controller, and it's great fun, but yes, it's also very basic and straightforward

Very basic is an understatement. I don't like this piece of plastic at all and don't recommend it to anyone.

The problem is that there arent too many controlers at that price point. You have the Hercules and the Behringer B-Control DeJay. Other than that you have to sping for a Pioneer DJM 800 or an Allen & Heath 3D @ $1,500 and $2,500 respectivley. More companies should be producing mixer/controlers in the near future. Keep your eyes open after winter NAMM.
