Hi all,

Kind of a basic question really... basically, I want to copy a clip into another track. Now this is obviously easy. But I don't want to just copy over the notes, I also want to copy over the midi sample and operator adjustments with it. It just saves alot of time if I want to make minor adjustments... because I've noticed if you have several clips in one track, you can basically only change notes. Everything else remains. For instance, if I have a particular clip, and I just want another copy of it but chopping out the highs... I have to recreate the whole thing from scratch. I lose all my operator adjustment + effects and what not.

And, as a side thing... is it possible to source back what midi sample you're using for a particular clip?

Cheers,

nikolic.

Preserve and access your ideas with Live Clips. To preserve an idea, simply drag and drop a clip into the Browser to save it as a new Live Clip. All edits, effects and virtual instruments are also stored with the Clip, allowing instant recall of your most complex creations. Never lose an idea again.

I suggest :RTFM: and checking in Ableton?s forum all you can about Live Clips.

there is a great book out called Ableton Live 4 Power that will teach you what you would need to know in 5 with just minor adjustments. they are aparently coming out with live 6 power, but that will be after Live 6 comes out. Which should be in a couple months.
