I am currentley teaching myself to use Ableton Live for live performances conducted through a laptop. I want to eliminate any latency possible, so I imagine that I should be looking towards firewire support. Does anyone have any suggestions for a go-between from the controller into the firewire port on a laptop?
I guess another question is, is this even necessary? Would going from a MIDI controller, through a piece of hardware, to a firewire connection eliminate any latency issues? Or am I just trying to crack this nut with a bottle opener (figuratively speaking that is)?
