I know crossforum posts are lame :D (since I posted this on the GU board as well..but so what.. :))
thought it'd share this with you.

heard the sasha breaks mix in one of his ableton sets and couldnt resist remaking a version for my own purpose (in first instance).

so here's the link for those who'd like to play it out as well [Only registered and activated users can see links]

its nothing outstanding production-wise...but yet a good set filler i suppose :)

Yeah indeed.
Know of any others bands similar to M83 stylewise?

Try the band "The birthday massacre". I like them for their heavy loaded synth rock.
Maybe you should check some postrock too: early "mogwai", "god is an astronaut" (love them!). They all have this spacey wide open atmospheric sound. If it should just a little bit quieter and more "scorish" (i.e. soundtracks and stuff) you could check "deaf center"or "efterklang". hmm, i think they stand pretty alone with their sound, but some of the band i mentioned come close ;)

DLed this and I dont think it works as it just swamp the dynamics of the track with the the constant breakbeat. Have you tried to tweak it so the breakbeat comes in @ 1:28 and again an rythmic accent at 2:26, maybe just fading the beakbeat out to free up the dynamics would do it!. A lower and sparser breakbeat at the start would work wonders too. Its OK could be great though! Keep up the good work :)
