I dug about as deep as your starting rotation - wasn't too hard really.
We're gaining fellah, 3 1/2 out and objects in mirror are closer then they appear...

10 1/2 back to 3 1/2 back - small streak indeed.
The good thing about supporting the Red Sox is that everyone (outside of boston) expects them to blow it, so if they do it's buisness as usual. When the Yankees fall apart like this everyone in the tristate, bandwagon fans included, get on the defensive faster than Giambi got off the juice.
Keep counting those rings boys, it's always nice to relive to past.

In the words of the Great Ric Flair.."To be the best you've got to beat the best WOOOOOOOO" and the Red Sux have yet to do that. Nuff said!!!
BSully828
September 1, 2004, 12:24:41 PM
"Yet" being to operative word - still 6 games between us to be played, once it's all said and done, then we'll know. Hell, if the Sox lose you can shit on me all you want, i can take it. In fact I'd welcome it - but if the Yanks lose, I bet i'll be able to count on one hand the number of NY fans that'll still be vocal - that bandwagon will empty in the blink of an eye.

Yeah, that's true - but man would it be sweet. I can't even imagine what Boston would be like that day. Businesses shut down after they beat the A's last year and that was only the 1st round!

Wasn't saying you were - anyone who was there through the 80's/early 90's are exempt in my book. I was referring to all those Jersey/NY brats who go to URI, Brown or PC and act like they are diehards when they win, but ask them who played short before Jeter was there and they're speechless. RI and Eastern CT is right in the middle of Redsox and Yankee country, things get ugly around here in September.

That is true, they only have one world series, but you cant deny the fact winning the division that many years in a row isnt dominance. Choking in the world series I think has alot to do with how easy it was for them to win so many penants when they got there and were actually challenged, they didnt know how to react. Just my opinion, I'm no baseball officianado by any means.

yeah, im with LV8
i became a fan during the dark days in the 80's
but most people dont realize we won more games in the 1980's than any other team, just not the wons that mattered.
either way, i am objective and can say that we are screwed if brown and mussina dont get thier shit together and the players dont get through it in it the clutch, but i am not gonna be a moron and say i dont like em any more if we lose.
PS the photo i posted was bill buckner looking behind him in 86 to see the ball head into the outfelid.

Yankee fans should live in the now and realize that this year there team is a bunch of overpaid fools in the game! With that kind of payroll and line-up and you should be crushing the opponents and not letting the injured Gary Sheffield carry the team.

I don't think we're living in the past, well we don't have to look back 86 years to remember what it felt like to win it ALL.

Of course a Sore Yankee fan that must manipulate words in order to feel better about there team. With the Yankee lineup they should have already clinched the Eastern Division. Once again it proves that you can't just throw together a team and expect them to be the best but we will talk at the end of the 6 games between the Red Sox and Yankees.

i am a huge braves fan and astros fan! and yes, both the astros AND the braves choke every fucking year, it sucks. the thing is, they don't have all-stars on every position. Getting beat 22-0 is unacceptable for the yankees when they have such an atrocious pay roll.

Thank you kind sir. I was quite sporty when I was young but broke my ankles so am now just a watcher. And I will watch just about anything. If I'm walking down the street and see some kids playing sand lot baseball I'll stop and check it out.
P.S I'm a Yankee, Knicks, Jets, Giants fan. The Rangers have broken my heart too many times.

actually chief, they're not locked into the playoffs.
in fact, they've slid quite a bit since the allstar break, they're far from a lock.
