The team at Mixcloud have been working hard and there should be nice improvements from last week.

So for the best experience on Mixcloud follow these tips
1, Desktop Website, ideally Chrome web browser, but anything modern should be fine (Firefox, Safari, Edge)
2, Mobile Web, has come along a long way this week, and should now hold up. Safari on iOS, and Chrome on Android would be the preferred browsers.
3, There is no in-app experience or Chromecast / AirPlay / AppleTV / Sonos right now, so please avoid those platforms, we'll get to them eventually.

Has anyone managed to work out what the streaming bitrate is of Mixcloud Select?? Talking the playback version, not live.

Major buffering issues! I bailed and went back to facebook.
I cant understand why they bother with such a high definition video if they cant manage the buffering!

The sound quality is far better on Mixcloud, the buffering sorts itself out after a bit. Anecdotally if you go full screen with no chat it's more stable

I used JDownloader and the file Mixcloud Select spat out was 68kbps AAC M4A

Basically all mixcloud M4A files are 68 kbps.. However what is important is the source file, the one that originally is being uploaded.. So there is a difference between a mixcloud m4a file that originally was 320 kbps mp3 and a file that originally is 128 kbps or lower..And yet: https://www.quora.com/Is-64kbps-AAC+...an-128kbps-MP3

Source files definitely matter, just wish the paid subscription got you a higher quality streaming or download file.

The video is impossible to rip (at least for us ordinary mortals), it's DRM protected like Netflix and Prime Video.
I did a test recording a few minutes of the set with Audacity and the audio quality was around 145k.
