How much music do you have?
I just bought a 250gb external hard drive and put all the electronic music I've been collecting since 1998. So far without most of my purchased cds added, the figures are:
2086 files @ 175.78gb that would play continuously for 97.4 days!
(all of this is legal of course, mostly live sets)
I think it's time to throw a party.
Music is the answer, to your problems. Keep on movin', till you solve them.

A lot. I got about a couple thousand cds and about the same amount of mp3 cds. NO records. Sold all those to be a cd dj. Don't know if it was a great idea. But Djing is djing right. I actually kinda like djing with cds. Have more music available to me then trying to find those hard to find vinyls that are so over priced.Common Sense is not Common at all.Comment

i'd say about 600 vinyls, 460 mp3s (prog/tribal/tech), 450 variety (mostly for work, i keep the house system up to speed) and like 200 sets...i threw all my cds away a while ago(about 300 of them, mostly metal)
and this topic begs the question... how do you keep your mp3 organized... by artist, by genre, just alphabeticaly in one folder?
the reason i ask: with mp3's is hard to remember song names or where they are if you dont play them often... vinyl is a little easier to remember because you actually hold the record in your hand (cds you'l have 5-10 tracks and it all blurs together)
seriously i would like some insight because im about to buy serato scratch live and i know songs will just get lost in the hard driveComment

To remoh about organizing: I've got all of my music in one folder. Within that folder is a seperate folder for each band, which in turn contains folders sorted by album date - album name. All of my sets are in one folder sorted alphabetically. Works pretty good so far. Especially ripping CDs with Exact Audio Copy...you can set it to put the ripped CD in a folder by drive/music folder/artist name/album name and it will create a folder for that new album. Whole process takes 1 click of a button.Comment
