It was mid to late 2000, I can't remember exactly when. Sasha just took the reigns over from Digweed. My friends and I leave the main dancefloor and make our way to the lounge area on the second floor. During this time period I recognized almost none of the songs they played. I hear a familiar tune being mixed in. When I realize what it was I got really happy that I was able to spot a tune, then looked at my friend and said "Pistolwhip". This person near us looks over and give a big smile.

Last One. It was Spring of 2002 if I'm not mistaken. Sasha & John Digweed's Delta Heavy Tour made it's stop in NYC @ The World, a restaurant/club located in the heart of times square. If I remember correctly the WWE owned it. Anyways it's the end of the night, Sasha plays his last record. They only played for 4 hours is what I remember thinking, we used to get 8 hour sets. Sasha and Digweed depart, but a few seconds later Sasha comes back to the makeshift DJ booth that they were touring with and has this record in his hand holding it up for everybody. He starts hopping up and down as I remember him doing at West 27th. It's a breakbeat followed by this crazy melody like I never heard before. This whole place is in awe. The song plays out and the night ends.

On a side note, I saw that this set was made available in the Sasha tracklist archive. TBH I don't remember Wavy Gravy being played at any other time of the night other than the encore. This makes me question the authenticity of it. Maybe I just don't remember hearing it at another time in the night, but I am absolutely positive Wavy Gravy was the one and only encore, the last song played.

Another Paul van Dyk moment where he dropped a song I wanted to hear that I expected Sasha to drop.

I don't remember the exact year. Paul van Dyk had just played at Roxy the Friday that just past. I remember disliking most of the set. The line literally wrapped around the block. It was a beautiful Monday is what I remember. Through the internet it was made known that PvD would be playing at Arc (formerly Vinyl where DT had his legendary "Be Yourself" nights every Friday night, man us in NYC were really spoiled back then). The entrance was only $10 IIRC, and all proceeds would be going to a 9-11 charity. When we got there I was surpised how many people were there considering it was only announced the same day that he would be playing.

The song of the summer was Underworld - Two Months Off (King Unique's Sunspot Vocal Remix). Again another song I've been dieing to hear live on a good sound system. (By that time Vinyl had been converted to Arc, they put a Phazon sound system in there but it didn't sound nearly as good as the one at West 27th. They even changed the lighting and decor and it somewhat resembled the club there were trying to re-create [GLOWBANA anyone?]). I remember Sasha playing at the Roxy too aroudn that time, and I was expecting him to drop it but he never did.

The whole night PvD was playing cheese. At what time I forget, but I hear Two Months off being mixed in (albeit with a much higher pitch than Sasha would play it at). I was so excited I went to the middle of the dancefloor and was in pure bliss.
