    A lawyer once told me something like 60% of people locked up are drink driving offenders in the jails down here.
    Man the way people run anything these days is bullshit. But then again do't expect me to do a better job.

    they should let the people who are in jail for pot out and put the real criminals in jail who have bankrupted the country.

    Regulation worked fine until de-regulation came along...and I think the last thing the US needs is more people in jail...

    Yup, Madoff need not be the exception. Severe punishment serves as a great catalyst for reminding people not to break the law (if they have no conscience in the first place, which seems to be the case for most Wall Street insiders).

    As with immigration, enforce current laws, don't add more.

    They should put people in jail for being corrupt. Jail usually works best. More regulation isn't the answer. You can have all the regulation in the world but if you are never held accountable then you will just always violate the regulations that have been put in place.
