Re: It's here fellas...
Following the opening of pre-orders for the new iPhone 4S on October 7, Apple has today announced it has sold over 1 million units of its new smartphone in 24 hours, smashing its previous single day pre-order record held by the iPhone 4, with 600,000 units.Leave a comment:

Re: It's here fellas...
Rumors abound its called the 4S (For Steve) but that could just be healthy speculation. They have given it quite a boost, new antenna, HSPA+ as well, so it isn't THAT bad a release as the 3G > 3GS lameness was. C'mon, everyone is still overlooking the fact at what this device can still actually do. iPod, Readers, (better) still AND 1080P recording, iOS, and their legendary app store. Ok the app store is crud because probably 50% (or more) of what seems to be free on Androids app store is charged on iOS, but that could be because of Apple having a lion's share of the market.Leave a comment:

Re: It's here fellas...
Good thing you bought up Samsung.... nice very nice hardware but the inside gut has a lot to be desired. I literally wanted to kick my Samsung Galaxy out the door a couple weeks into using it... Personally I love the core of the Android system, but when it does not flow like butter... it pretty much is a second class OS.Yeah its kind of a crappy release imo. They shouldve changed the design with something that can compete against the Galaxy S2 or any newer phones that are coming soon.
For example the Samsung Galaxy Nexus supposedly has a 1.5ghz dual core processor + GPU + 4.65" SAMOLED screen = OWNAGE.
I was expecting more from Apple, seems im going for an android phone as my next smartphone.Leave a comment:

Re: It's here fellas...
I apologize, I got confused.
I guess it's more so the whole fact (not directed at you feather) that there is an uproar over it. We all expected an iPhone 5 because of what the internet and media "buzz" or "hype" said. It's concerning that it has such an effect on people in general.Leave a comment:

Re: It's here fellas...
Ok I got the time frame wrong, your point being?
I'm saying this IS a 4GS release, in response to dusk who said Apple could've simply slapped a 5 onto this.
So everything else I said still stands.Leave a comment:

Re: It's here fellas...
Original iPhone 4 and 8 GB released June 29th, 2007
16 GB released Feb 5th, 2008
iPhone 3G released July 11th, 2008
iPhone 3GS released June 19, 2009 (16 and 32GB)
iPhone 3GS (8GB) released June 24th, 2010
iPhone 4 released June 24th, 2010 (Black, GSM)
iPhone 4 (CDMA, Black) released Feburary 10th, 2011
iPhone 4 White released April 28th, 2011
Not sure how you figure the 3GS was sooner. If you followed in any way shape or form the release of the iPhone it's always the same time frame apart. The reason why the 4S took 4 more months is due to the Tsumani that struck Japan and hindered the component manufacturing process.
Sure blame Apple for not releasing the phone without enough product to supply the demand. According to critics of Apple, they would have been damned if they did and damned if they didn't. Am I a little disappointed that it wasn't the iPhone 5? Sure, but that is because I bought into all the bullshit retards on the internet claiming that it had to be an iPhone 5.
If you look at the specs, it follows what they did with the 3G-3GS phone. Minor changes to the phone, it didn't warrant a full new version as you said, just a letter on the end of it.Leave a comment:

Re: It's here fellas...
No you're getting it wrong.
See, given the software updates, it could be a new version number, hence iOS 5.
But the hardware updates are not worthy of a version number change. This is a 4.xx update, not a 5. It's simply how versioning is done. If they tried to pass this off as a 5, there would be even more backlash. Apple understands that, hence marketing it as a 4S.
It was a much shorter time between the 3G and the 3GS or whatever they were called.
The disappointment comes from the internet expecting the 5 after so much time has past, that's all. It's a good estimate of their product cycles to have expected the 5 this time.Leave a comment:

Re: It's here fellas...
Yup....like I said before.... ungrateful and unappreciative it seems.
Don't you guys think that Apple is holding off on the appearance change for a reason. There is so much that goes into it. For starters, the size of the current modem will need to be revamped to accommodate a new design. Apple is not gonna put out a half-assed product... like some out companies out there... Re: It's here fellas...
Not entirely true as most of the upgrades are software. The hardware upgrades seem to be a new processor, extra 3mp on the camera, and errr ... is that it?With all the upgrades to this puppy, they could have just called it the "5" and there wouldn't be so much disappointment around. Kinda sad how everyone just disregards all the massive work that went into the upgrades because there was no appearance change.... sad lot we are....Leave a comment:

Re: It's here fellas...
A lot of the updates that are software related are going to pop up on the iPhone 4 anyways, aren't they?
If so, unless I win the lottery and have some left over skrilla from the diamond encrusted helicopter that I've bought for myself, I'll stick to the one I got for now.Leave a comment:
