Hehehe. The news is the other way. Abobe bought Macromedia.

      I am a freehand user.

I am interested to see what their plan is in the future. Will they stop all the macromedia software development or will they continue with it. Which software will be killed and so on.

Wow... this is huge!! I know what the macromedia employees are going through right now... considering PeopleSoft, the company I worked for, got bought by Oracle.

Honestly I don't know if the combination of these two companies is really a good thing. Of course Macromedia is going to post on their that the reason the two companies are combining is so they can present a better product but when it comes down to it, it's all about the stockholders and the biggest return on their investment!

Adobe and Macromedia were competitors and I hope the combination of the two doesn't stop the innovation each would strive for to be that much better then the other.

Anyhow, this almost seems to be an almost normal occuring thing in the corporate world... Lets hope we will really benefit from the combination of the two.

my company was recently bought by GE. Today's the first day after 60% of my department was laid off... it's empty down here. crazy feeling having to go through all the stuff that your friends (coworkers) of 4 years have and put it away :?

Some of the people had even been here for 15 years

I don't remember writing the title like that but whatever. You can pretty much kiss freehand and fireworks goodbye. Flash is going to be awesome now.... better integration with aftereffects which will be huge for the big broadband showboat sites. This will definitely be big for adobe.

I don't know, this would be like nVidia buying ATi, the competition to one up each other is gone now. The need to innovate to keep your product in the forfront is gone...you see what I mean. We'll see...

But it is big news, none the less.

In the future there will be just one technology company:

                              MicrogoogledobeATIntelAMDnvidiasoft (Microsoft for short)

                              Shares start at $975

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."
