So i booked a film and I'm set for 4 days until Saturday.. if the shoot goes really well I'll hopefully be going to this for a "wrap party," with some of the cast/crew. but we'll see what time we wrap, etc. My buddy that invited me wants to touch base on Wed to see if he's up for it since he just got back from Miami. Life is never simple these days
I'd like to make my way down to Miami for a few nights for wmc, but heard it's not the same regarding all the random hotel parties as it once was...which was my favorite part, just bouncing around from party to party, many of which were guest list or inexpensive. Anyone know? I guess it's too early to know still.
^ if you are looking at the DJ booth they are along the left wall..i think there are like 3 or 4 but to be honest I don't even remember anyone staying at the tables for too long when I was there.
South Beach has a different vibe.. Mansion has tables pretty much in the middle of the dance floor
i dont even remember where the VIP tables are at vagabond. clubs on the strip have much bigger VIP areas that interfere with the dance floor.
i think cameo and set are the worst. set when they launched had a decent dance floor. the last time i went a couple years ago, the table service took up most of the floor, ridiculous.
I should say, we had a similar MS meetup at a club in slovakia a year or so. Was great to meet people from the forum and talk about old times and the music we have in common. Were I in florida I'd come along for sure.
I'm from the UK but live in Vienna. I typically pay the extra for access to the VIP area when I go clubbing in Hungary. Not because I'm better than the rest, but because it's convenient to have more space, cleaner toilets and a less packed bar. Having a vip pass (or a table) doesnt mean you cant go to the main dancefloor.
What a shame that we have had to debate over this, and outshine a friendly gesture from a long term member inviting others to socialise (at the end of the day). Because really that is what it is...

From the comments I see of people chiming in against the idea of having a table, it's not a sit-in restaurant type table with forks and knives, its a coffee table, just some place to put your drinks and a nice sofa to sit on. But it amazes me, not only because people here are being so vocal about it, it's more so that people are unwilling to accept a differing (clubbing) style in another country which they can't relate to.
And Audrey, sorry to call you out but you have been rather aggressive (and apparently confused) with your arguments in this thread, firstly directing them towards FO, then towards having a table, and then towards the general dynamic of the clubbing scene in the U.S.
If no one is interested in joining FO in Florida and has nothing to add to his invite, then please leave this thread alone. Don't need this unnecessary and uncalled for bickering.
