Most people usually want to wait until the last minute before they apply for taking the NBDE exam. The sitting fee for the exam has been structured to discourage such last minute afterthoughts for the examination. Applying for the exam in the last minutes cost much higher that if the candidate would have made earlier arrangements. Therefore it is good to have an earlier plan.
