I guess it looks like i'll be purchasing one of the new intel macs. It shows they are faster and a little bit cheaper too. Maybe by them finally bringing down their prices, it'll make more sales for apple.Comment

Re: new macs
I don't use macs anymore and haven't for quite some time, but I switched to, and continue to use, PCs begrudgingly. Macs are so much easier to use, and so much more elegant, but I've got to have a PC to run certain apps, and I have no need for multiple computers...

Re: new macs
It all depends on what you want to use your computer for. If you want it for media purposes, then go Mac. Otherwise join the masses and get a PC.I am no cyberwhore...

Re: new macs
Now damnit... why'd you have to write that? This isn't about "masses" it's about what works for you, what you feel comfortable with and what fits within your budget. I personally have pc's. I'm a producer and graphic artist and I've owned both a mac and pc. Now this whole "mac for media" and pc for everything else has really, REALLY got to go. This seems to be the only thing mac supporters/owners now throw into the ring when this argument between "what to choose" comes up. The fact of the matter is my Photoshop suite runs better on my pc then it ever did on my mac. When it comes to sound apps I've only ever ran them on a pc because when I started all the software I used was only compatible with a pc. I can run plug in after plug in and never have an issue with either sound or graphic apps. It's all predicated by what you have from a hardware standpoint and what you're running software wise. I don't use my "personal" computer for sound stuff and likewise I don't use my "studio" computer for anything other than sound production. Lets face facts... If it wasn't for the ipod Apple would be close to/if not dead right now. Please don't get me wrong... I'm not knocking Apple or its owners because I used to be one. I'm just saying that the whole argument that one computer operating system is better than another one is nothing more than opinion, pure conjecture and personal preference.Originally posted by ZendoBroLast edited by geoffgulley; January 11, 2006, 01:04:10 AM."only dead fish swim with the stream..." >>Jobs: Apple sales hit $5.7B in Dec. quarter (AAPL) By John Shinal
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch)
Apple Computer Inc. Speaking to an audience at the company's Macworld conference in San Francisco, Jobs also said the company sold 14 million iPods and 1.25 million Macintosh computers during the quarter, and that the company's retail stores generated $1 billion in sales. Apple shares rose more than 4% in midday trading. Apple is expected to report full results for the quarter on Jan. 18.<<I am no cyberwhore...
