Until a hurricane or disaster destroys New York, and your city's only light is rallying around a football team that has been shit for years, and suddenly rides to glory on the hopes and dreams of thousands of poor and unemployed...sorry, not much of a comparison for a story.

Look, I said, "GO CHIEFS," and I meant it, but I'm not an idiot, I am well aware that they are lucky to have made the playoffs and aren't likely to go very far this year. On the other hand, I'm not the one telling everyone here that the Chiefs have a great story, that everyone should be basking in their glory, none of that. Pulling for your team is one thing, having unrealistic and egocentric opinions about your team is another.

If you really think that the Jets present the league's most interesting story -- or even an interesting story -- to anyone outside of New York, though, you really need to get out more. I think about the Jets and I just yawn.

The Jets? FFS. No story there, don't even see how you can put them in the same sentence as the Saints.

Rookie head coach facing his mentor in the playoffs, a man who gave him his start in the NFL. Anonymous underachiever David of a team facing the ultimate Goliath, the only modern day NFL Dynasty we may ever see.

A team that started the season with no QB, no RB, and a single WR, who despite all odds accomplishes a 10-6 record, going 6-2 since the bye, earning their way into the playoffs.

Classic Cinderella/Underdog- that's always a good story.

The Saints, obviously a great story that even people outside of football ought to care about, but the Jets? Who really cares? I mean, honestly, every team has a story to tell -- nothing about the Jets' season is worthy of anything more than a Sportscenter vignette, at least as compared to the other teams (apart from the Saints).

Note to Sean: just because something is related to NY sports doesn't mean the rest of us are obliged to give a shit about it.

the saints and jets are great surprises this year and deserve all the accolades.

The Saints, obviously a great story that even people outside of football ought to care about, but the Jets? Who really cares? I mean, honestly, every team has a story to tell -- nothing about the Jets' season is worthy of anything more than a Sportscenter vignette, at least as compared to the other teams (apart from the Saints).

. the saints and jets are great surprises this year and deserve all the accolades. both teams were written off in the pre season and both teams over acheived to a great lvl. rookie coaches, QB's off injuries, the saints have the running backs and colsten, the jets have the trio of recievers in carrens, coles and cocchery. with the two big rookies up front in mangold and fergusen.

go jets, go saints

and a note to the NFL as a whole, if the saints go all the way, show some class and have the game in NOLA. that would go beyond sports and into a sign of humanity and do a ton for the region, garnering nothing but respect from every single one of your target audience.
