I don't really think religion is behind the violence, but I think it's the people using religion to condone their behavior.

A couple of examples, Muslims in America haven't committed terrorist acts, but Middle Eastern Muslims are know for terrorism. Also, Christian crusades were violent, but claimed to be fighting for God.

Does being religious make one violent? Certainly not. But religion enables violence by providing a cause for people to fight, and an irrational justification for it that can't be questioned. Many religions teach us that questioning God is blasphemy... but Islam is particularly bad in this respect. Even in most moderate Islamic countries, questioning the Quran is punishable by death.

When was the last time you turned on the television and saw Athiests clashing in the streets with Agnostics? Religion serves no other purpose but to divide people.... to remove rational thought / personal responsibility from our lives... and to provide a control mechanism over the masses. It's very hard for us to use our brains to think through and solve our problems or differences. It's so much easier to just give up and say, "God wills it." or "God will take care of me." or "This is all part of God's plan." And when people are taught not to question authority, they are easier to control. Religious leaders have known this for centuries, and used it to serve their own ambitions.

Christianity has been extremely violent throughout history. This is not some secret or big surprise. And when you consider that Christianity, Islam and Judaism all basically comes from the same beginnings, just interpreted differently... then you REALLY begin to see how much violence has come from the Abrahamic religions.

well look at North America's history.. I'm not saying I want the USA to kill all of them but lets face facts.. If they (Muslims) won't do what we want we usually get rid of them... or suppress them like Africa

Man blows himself up in Internet cafe

CASABLANCA, Morocco - A man with explosives hidden on his body blew himself up in an Internet cafe after the owners prevented him from looking at terror Web sites, the Interior Ministry said Monday.

The man was killed and four people were injured in the Sunday night blast in a Casablanca slum, said ministry spokesman Abderrahman Achour. One of the wounded was the dead man's companion, who was hospitalized with burns and a throat injury.

Both men were carrying explosives. But officials believe the cybercafe may not have been their target and that the explosion was an accident, Mokhtar Bekkali Kacemi, the general affairs director for Casablanca province, was quoted by the MAP state news agency as saying.

The men were "probably preparing to commit a criminal act" later, Kacemi said.
Moroccan police have been cracking down on suspected Islamist extremists since suicide bombings in Casablanca in 2003 killed 45 people and woke the North African kingdom to the threat of Islamic terrorism.

The dead man was identified as Abdelftah Raidi, who was convicted of suspected terror links and sentenced to five years in prison before being pardoned in 2005, Achour told The Associated Press. Raidi, a Casablanca native in his early 20s, was unemployed, he said.

Raidi's injured companion was identified as Yusuf Khoudri, from the same Casablanca neighborhood, Achour said.

The news agency reported that two men entered the cafe at 10 p.m. Sunday seeking access to terrorist sites, but the owner's son refused. A scuffle broke out, and the owner called for help before Raidi's explosives went off, Kacemi was quoted as saying by MAP. Khoudri then fled, dropping an explosives belt on his way out, the official said. He was arrested about an hour later.

Khoudri was taken to Mohamed V Hospital in Casablanca, where he underwent an operation on his throat, the ministry spokesman said. Police questioning was limited because of his injury.

The other three injured people included the Internet cafe owner's son, MAP reported.

Very Sad story ...we really send our regards to the family of those ppl killed in such a Barbaric act and we will make sure to catch those mad Muslims and send them to court and let justice take it course.

I saw this extremist muslim group in Nepal on this video cutting this guys head off with a knife like it was a sunday ham. and yes the dude was still alive. afterwards he just put the dudes head on his chest. in the background his counterparts were shooting allof these villagers repeatedly with assault rifles. I seriously wish i never watched it because it gave me the most horrible feeling inside and it literally made me kinda sick. but once again the only major interest that i know of that the US or Isreal has there is tourism.
