I've just watched the full batch (again) from beginning to end over the past few months - freaking awesome .... Sopranos is simply the best thing ever to hit tv or film. Total character development and the most intricate of plotting, with key things stemming from minor characters that you never saw coming.

The final season and show did total justice - on re-watching the finale there is the most grotesque of hits and closure achieved across key mob members (Tony and Paulie's relationship is essential viewing across the whole series), the FBI and the family - hats off to AJ for a truly great performance ...
+ I still want to marry Blanca

My complete Sopranos box sets are just as treasured as Sasha & John's NE 1-3 .. I don't think i can pay any more respect than that.

    Simply essential.

i agree that last season was really getting worst, but still greatest TV show ever imo.
    HBO great job!
and ending is really strange, but that's the way they made it. fuck it!
tension was great, better than going standard, scarface end, that's nothing new....
    salut!

I wish that was true. From the sound of things, James Gandolfini is done playing Tony Soprano.

I've heard this theory, too, and it's the only theory that I think is really all that satisfying and that makes sense. If this was the plan all along, it might have been wise to emphasize this theme more than twice over the course of the series so it would be clear to more than just those that analyze every line, but that's a pretty cool way to end the show if in fact that's what he was going for.

also in the earlier seasons, the trucker who was sitting at the bar stool, who the camera kept focusing in on, is Nikki leotardo, Phil Leotardos nephew, he was in one of the early season episodes where Phil and Tony have a sit down....

seriously though....why the hell would all those various people that had reasons to kill tony happen to be at the same freakin restaruant at the same time.....give me a break...stupid ass ending period

I dont feel rewarded at all. Seems like a bunch of fluff and hype to me. Those are awful big pulls and asumptions when it comes to knocking off a boss. The black guys- total fluff- to bring back issues from season 2/3 that in turn would result in Tony's death...I dont buy it. However, I could understand Phil's nephew getting revenge for Phil's death, but to bring it up in the last 30 seconds of the entire series and say that was the way it was planned from day one seems like a bunch of crap. Being a "true fan", Im still dissapointed, especially coming off the whirlwind that the last two seasons were.
