Thing is he can't play the part
He comes off like one of the Cosby kids
more of a spoiled brat who whines
when he doesn't get his way.
Don't think Marvin Gaye, Chuck D, or Smokey Robinson
complained as much as this guy does about lack of respect
yet he's a child compared to the three above.

    Ironic considering
MTV taped an entire hours worth
of his material for a show during that weekend.
I guess it wasn't enough to have him dress up
like Flavor Flav in a tuxedo and dance around
like some stand in on Soul Train. Granted it was comical
as hell but jeez why can't he lighten up a bit.
Must be bi-polar cause during the taping
he seemed like it was one big laugh, then you get
quotes like in the previous post. He's one strange cat.

Never have really listened to his music. The music seems

doing his turntablist thing. He didn't come across arrogant at all
was very polite to the crowd and the tv crew, a lot more so than
other artists I've dealt with, plus he seemed like he really loves
to sing and entertain. Granted the show was in the Hugh Hefner
suite at the palms and MTV wheeled in about 100 model/hookers
to fill the front of the crowd and an open bar as well might have
added to the relaxed nature of Kayne West, no matter what this
guy is going to sell records, all the ladies knew the lyrics to all
the songs and of course the drones (male tools) will follow
to heap praise and man crush recognition. For anyone interested
in the show, a portion will air on the MTV Music Awards Sun. and
the rest at some other time.
    Credibility, can't argue with that

my view was more to do with the quality of the rap that is coming out...yes there is tons of shit out there but there is still a lot of good stuff too.
touch?. i can see a decline in music sales all the way across the board, due to p2p; but hip hop in general is just so played out. i have a really hard time listening to a bunch of kids who grew up on hip hop releasing albums talking about gang bangin' when they haven't.

back in the day you had people slinging crack to make money to buy their studio time and equipment in order to succeed at their goals. now days you have kids learning to rhyme by listening to the music (which is fine) but they are rapping about the same shit they listened to, not about what they have lived. just fake to me.

i totally agree with both points made

in closing, kanye is still an uneducated, misinformed, over rated, jack ass, who is more concerned with his appearance than his ability to complete a sentence. damn, i think i just defined an entire genre.

    btw ugk is the shit!

so played out anymore. don't get me wrong, grew up listening to NWA, Too $hort, etc. and still listen to alot of it; but any of the new stuff just makes me sick. it's all so commercialized anymore it's just not the same. you can only rap about the same shit for so long; people eventually just get tired of hearing it.

i've actually started digging up old school rap that i missed back in the day such as gang starr, jedi mind tricks, ugk etc.
