i read somewhere that she heard just before the show about sarah silverman coming out and being an unfunny cunt at her expense... and was very displeased about it

I heard that, too, but that's the way the cookie crumbles IMO. If you're a public figure, you have to have a pretty thick skin about what others say about you. Especially as a performer, you can't just mail it in because you're bummed/pissed/whatever.

I don't think it is fair to call her "fat," because she's really just "not thin," but there are so many other totally legitimate reasons to harp on her for this performance. Pictures don't do it justice, the video is a must -- the teetering around, the clueless lip-synching, and the overall horribleness of the performance only really come out when you see it in motion. I think she literally looks like she's drugged up during this performance, I really do.

I hear she was pretty despondent after the performance. Hollywood Squares, there's someone at your door...
