we'll have to it - although fines will not be handed out easily, police can break up the party - and that's what we don't want...

Yeah once you found the party. The Dutch do a stellar job at keeping secrets!

So I was right - it was after FFWD dance parade in Rotterdam. had been all day on my feet and fairly tired, but this party got me in the mood for more again ;-)

    Re: raves..

I missed out on Dance Valley the previous weekend, so when I heard about the underground party, I jumped on it. Out of style or not, it was refreshing not to see old guys with silk shirts hitting on barely legal girls.

yep, but you know how fashion, being in and out etc. evolves... History just repeats itself, maybe in a slightly other way or other form, but still...

As mentioned before in this thread by me, raves are getting more popular in Holland again (defined as 'underground' parties here), because of the overcommercialisation of the big parties / events... We used to start raving because clubs didn't offer us any option to do so.... History repeating? I would say so!

I think Raves are out, but everyone should experience one event in your life. Sad to say, it's out the door though

Yep, it was just before my holidays and after some festival I went to (I think FFWD or Mysteryland).

    Was a nice underground one!

maxman: were you @ the party in Isolatorweg in some basement type building behind a burger king and a hotel? It was in mid-August on a Saturday. I'm surprised I still remember.

    too bad...

In holland we see a revival of raves due to the over commercialisation of regular parties and events...

And it's something I very much welcome!

Raves don't really exist in the UK anymore. Used to go to them in the early 90's though.

I was fortunate enough to get the directions to an underground rave in Amsterdam last month. Those guys went all out! They located an underdeveloped building, annexed the basement, and actually did a lot of welding and painting before they were satisfied. The Polite (Coppers) didn't show up until 7 hours into the party, and never shut it down. My friend and I were in an unknown part of Amsterdam, far from our hotel, and surrounded by total strangers. Yet it appeared to be the safest place to be. The whole night reminded me of high school all over again. You know the feeling when you're being bad, but because you're underage you're invincible. That night was great, the people were chill, the beats were top shelf, and then...the come down.
I believe we were in the same location... Was a solid party! I'm not always happy with Holland, but you can't beat the underground scene there!
