I am looking to buy a Full HD LCD TV for my living room. I searched for 32 and 37 inches TV's and strangely, a 37"" Full HD TV costs not much more than a 32"" HD ready TV. It's the same brand, same panel used and more or less the same features are available. How comes that you get a bigger screen with better resolution for quite the same money? Is there another disadvantage (besides that you need the room for it maybe lol) I did not count in so far? I have seen these similar prices not only in products from the same brand but it seems to be like this in general. 5 inches more and full HD resolution you get for almost the same as you pay for 5 inches less with only a HD ready resolution.

Re: 32"" vs. 37"" LCD TV
If I remember reading it correctly, there are only 4 lcd/plasma dispaly manufacturers in the world, all the well known brands who sell TVs (sony, philips, etc) buy from these 4 manufacturers, package it with their skin and tweak the display with their proprietary software to improve image quality.
So when you buy 32 vs 37", you're pretty much getting the same display in both TVs (remember the resolution is still the same no matter what the surface/display area of the front screen), the same software, the same connectors etc. etc. The only additional cost is the larger size of the front glass, which isn't too much and so the price difference is marginal.www.mjwebhosting.com

Re: 32"" vs. 37"" LCD TV
that's not strictly true, larger screens can (not all) have higher resolutions which is why to get true 1080p you have to go higher than 32"Comment

Re: 32"" vs. 37"" LCD TV
^^ beg to differ, 1080p = 1920 x 1080 lines, whether you dump that in a 60" screen or a 32" screen, the number of lines stays the same. Thats why smaller screens "appear" clearer than larger screens because artifacts are magnified.
And you can get full hidef in 32".www.mjwebhosting.com

Re: 32"" vs. 37"" LCD TV
Yes there are also 32"" LCD's available in full HD...I have seen them while searching. The size does not seem to be the problem..I mean already a 24"" TFT for the PC displays 1980x1200 pixels. What Kamal said sounds right to me..I thought there was maybe a huge disadvantage and I should rather spend 100 bucks more and get a classy 32" LCD but now I think I am going for the size.Comment

Re: 32"" vs. 37"" LCD TV
I ended buying this one:

37"" Full HD, 3xHDMI, 2x30W Speakers (which is quite massive for LCD TV's and a further reason to buy it), 100 hz and true 24p. This should be a feast for the PS3 and bluray movies.
I also bought a rack and a longer optical cable to connect it to my hifi amplifier..this is going to be fun. Gotta love men toys

Re: 32"" vs. 37"" LCD TV
37" monitors in 1080P is newer and wasn't available in the past. You cannot get a 32" monitor with full HD capabilities. Not yet. So for now, Titan is correct.
Good choice there, Tom. Those Toshiba Regzas are getting decent reviews and although they aren't the best, they are good for the pricing. Great value at low prices.
Next time, go for a 73".

I would need a bigger flat for that in the 1st place.37" monitors in 1080P is newer and wasn't available in the past. You cannot get a 32" monitor with full HD capabilities. Not yet. So for now, Titan is correct.

The Toshiba got great revievs beeing connected to a PS3 and it is supposed to do native 24p and not "faked" like other TV's do it. As I said before, there are 32 "" Full HD LCD TV's available...I searched half a week till I made the decision and saw numerous 32"" TV's in Full HD. First I thought maybe they are only available in Europe at this stage but seeing Kamal's links it seems they are also available in US markets.

Re: 32"" vs. 37"" LCD TV
LOL. Honestly, I don't search for televisions that small so I didn't know they were finally out. As for the Fry's reference, I'm sorry that you have to pay more for things because you don't have one near you. No need to hate me because I don't need a work visa.is that cause you didn't see one at frys ?
