As long as there are enough inputs on the mixer it is definitely possible. For example if you had....

1 DJ playing vinyl = 2 phono inputs
1 DJ playing CD's = 2 line inputs
1 DJ using Serato/Scratch using control CD's = 2 ADDITIONAL line inputs
1 DJ using Serato/Scratch using control vinyl = 2 ADDITIONAL line inputs

So in order for this to be setup before the show the mixer would need
2 phono inputs
6 line inputs

Anything is possible with the right equipment.

badass, then i am getting traktor. this was the nudge i needed. if i never burn another cd for a gig, i would be a happy man.

no i think still using cdjs, just having all of his music on a laptop thats connected to the decks via traktor. and he'll be able to use traktor for some looping etc...

thats my understanding of it, anyways. i can't see him going to an ableton like thing where it beatmatches for him. not like he needs it...

if you have got one guy wanting to use serato and another traktor...could you possibly set both of them up beforehand? it would likely be a god-awful amount of cords behind the mixer, but i'm curious if it could be done. anyone?

this may be a dumb question but does this mean he wont be using cdjs anymore and will be using a cpu to mix??

no i think still using cdjs, just having all of his music on a laptop thats connected to the decks via traktor. and he'll be able to use traktor for some looping etc...

thats my understanding of it, anyways. i can't see him going to an ableton like thing where it beatmatches for him. not like he needs it...

I tried Traktor on the laptop a few years ago...The one that was strictly used on laptop, no cdj's or decks....And it sucked....

Well considering that the guy ALWAYS has his xone 92, which most clubs only get when these big dj's come to town...there shouldn't be any problems with them paying 300 clams to get traktor also. They can afford it.
