it might upconvert to 1080p thanks to upscaling but it won't be real 1080p at all. -

in other words it could help improve picture quality and upscale video output so that it fits for HD viewing but it won't be nearly as good as real 1080p, because in fact it isn't real 1080p. almost all newer DVD's have some sort of upscaling feature... Even the 360 is capable of upscaling standard DVD's,
I'd just buy a blu-ray player if I were you. that way you'll be able to experience FULL HD movies. and real 1080p resolution and sound.Comment

Just about every DVD player out in the market these days will upcovert. Stay away from the no-namers though. As for the Xbox 360 upconverting DVDs, it's been rated as one of the worst in the market. You can get a $30 Phillips that will do a much better job.Comment

actually it plays DVD movies better than the PS3 itself, have you ever watched comparison videos on Gamespot, ign or gametrailers? or you just pull facts out of your ass.

-Assasins Creed 2 and Mass Effect 2 will be announced as exclusive tittles for the Xbox360 on September 25th.
-Did I mention that Fallout 3 won't have DLC on PS3 and neither trophies? well there it goes...another company that doesn't give a shit for the PS3..congrats Bethesda software.Comment

I have an Xbox360 (it was free) and compared the output with my PS3 and you can easily tell the difference of watching a standard DVD. I would not watch a DVD through the Xbox360. I will not trust what I've seen on online sites such as ign or Gametrailers as the output online is horrid. They should get better capture media.
I don't get pissed off over silly news about games. I am a heterosexual and don't care about special things with these other games. I'd much rather smell my son's underwear. Mmmm!Comment

The GPU in the 360 is MARGINALLY better than the one in the PS3. However, the PS3 has 6 cores available to developers for gaming. Compare that with the maxium of 3 cores on the XBox and you've got some seriously heavy number crunching artillery there.

I'll probably get one if MGS4 never makes it on the 360 which I doubt it won't happen. I already have a blu ray player so I ain't missing much. well God of War 3 but that will probably get released in 2010.
