1400 people feeding off the bands great musicality and enthusiasm. I had forgotten what a large sound they have live. 7 members all contributing - and so tight, they can stop and start a song with absolute precision. Build crsecendo's and drop back to almost no sound with ease. Just amazing. The new tracks held up very well live and a whole load of oldies thrown in for good measure. The band really seem to enjoy themselves. The front man dances like an epileptic. Lots of unique attributes to this live set - I wont spoil the surprise for Highdesert and his wifey.

Last time I saw James was with 50,000 people at a festival - so good to see them live in a small venue and see the audience react so positively.
The 1st time I saw James was in 1988 with an audience of 150!!!!
    THAT was a small venue!

I saw a couple of YouTube clips from recent shows and they have the same setup from when I saw them at a theatre in Oxford. I was third balcony though and couldnt even stand up to dance so this Monday is going to be a different story when we catch them at the Ogden in Denver which is a great intimate venue.

Thanks Huggie, you really got me even more amped to see this show and I completely agree that they are one of the best live bands I have seen. True musicians showing their craft where it counts and Tim Booth is totally engaging with the audience and it is amazing his head stays on when he dances

There is a live DVD they put out called Getting Away With It Live that *was* their final concert in 2002 before they got back together, highly recommended.

When you see bands that have so much talent - great musicians, a singer that has a range and can hold a note - it makes me wonder (and get frustrated) at why the music biz supports such talentless hacks as Ashlee Simpson etc etc who have no discernible talent whatsoever.

As a small aside we were treated to an extra support slot from Amy MacDonald - whose first album got really good reviews - she was great with a live band- she should do well.

    9.9999/10 for the gig! superb.

There are some quality 'pop' songs in their catalogue. I think their Please to Meet You album is sublime but Seven and Wah Wah bring back all kinds of memories.
