i don't know if you've ever checked out this label...
www.12k.com but they have some amazing ambient music. Mostly they do what is termed "Microsound" but they are doing a lot more these days.

right now i'm listening to the new Ryuichi Sakamoto album. Out of Noise...brilliant piano and electronics compositions. The first piece is amazing, just a looped piano with embellishments with every repeat of the loop. It really gets complex at the end of it.

def checkout Dreamtime Return. Considered one of his classics. It's two discs and is superb. I need to break this one out again, haven't listened to it forever.
