The high quality live-sets certainly hurt the CD-sales. Who buys mix comps when there's that much free music around?

the voice overs or radio promo kicks in

i remember when pete tong played prydas 'animal' for the first time with no voiceovers and it was ripped and up on youtube within minutes. i don't see how this can do the artist any harm as it's great publicity

Both Sasha & Digweed have their private servers in london,
i was having some dirty thoughts on hacking those servers and share the sets with MS.
Recently found Sasha's server location when he was uploading a set on soundcloud.
i know thats some weird info, but saying it, is preventing me from doing it (kind of).
I have great respect for these artists, and its a shame to do such a thing, is it ?

    ok who's with me ?

    just kidding!.

Ask him anyway, a hq copy of the Twilo sets, those won't hurt any sale or promo list.

Doubt it. I'm pretty sure he plays his normal gigs without thinking about the recording but then again I'm sure he keeps his mind on things when it comes out live as an essential mix, example: the Ibiza 2008-mix that had loads of Bedrock 10 stuff on it.

I'm going to be pretty fucking surprised if he does. I've been toying with the idea of asking him for a HQ-copy of the Essential Mix as it's now 7 months old but haven't bothered because I doubt he'd do it.
I actually thought the EM was reasonable quality, i noticed something on Radio 1 stuff, if you listen to the EM when Kaiserdisco - Jaune drops back in after the main breakdown theres a nice sort of pounding distortion on the kick for about the first 2 kicks, ive noticed it on the radio 1 mixes too, must be their fancy compressors/processors, sounds good for techno anyway

Then again i was disappointed with the quality of the Hawtin EM this year, one of my fav mixes of the year but the bass was lacking and too much crowd noise.....crowd noise is nice cos it adds some atmosphere but sometimes its just too much

Also i wonder if Digweed plays differently if he knows hes gonna release a set (he records all his sets i heard??), or does he decide afterwards if he will release it after listening to it? Does he hold back on the exclusive tracks because of this?

i've just downloaded that clip and my version is different to that. just before that tune is a break which ends with the 'this is the digitally imported radio network' then the transitions voice comes on, i only assume the version in your link was from a different radio station broadcast? great tune though - The Diogenes Club - Jaunt (Harry Peat Remix)

    My opinion is divided ...

In one hand, this is the best live transitions show of this year,
especially the still unidentified tune 17 that is fantastic, I have to say ...
And yes, there is a lot of crowd noise, but to me that was not a problem !
When I play "John Digweed live @..." this is exactly what I want to hear...

But... In the other hand, I'm a bit disappointed...
What bothers me, like in every live so far, is that there is no "mind blowing" part...

"Heavy artillery" tracks, like those in the end of the set in Moonpark 2010, are always missing !
Like the story without a conclusion !
And I'm definitely agree with cm1179...

In any case...!! many thanks to John, and I'll hope for better live sets this year...

i remember when he aired the quite fantastic set from the pawn shop to celebrate the release of fabric 20 and not one track from the album was on the mix! infact all his pawn shop mixes have been way way above in terms of quality and variation of music to his recent released live mixes.

digweed should gethings started with a proper quality mix @ last
when was the lastime you've heard a good non promotional mix,
without voiceovers and crowd yelling from the man?
its getting annoying, every set goes str8 in the bin for that reason!.
