    Release Notes:

    01. Paul Hazendonk & Noraj Cue - In The Dark feat. Alice Rose (Darin Epsilon Remix) [Manual Music | MAN136]

Paul Hazendonk's 'Adapt' LP was released in April of 2014. It was and continues to be one of this year's standout musical collections. Paul's Manual Music imprint is now pleased to present the second single from the album entitled 'In the Dark' feat Alice Rose. It was one of many tracks in which Paul collaborated with fellow Dutch producer Noraj Cue.

'In the Dark' had the distinct honour of opening the album with its delicate beats and melancholic elegance. For the 136th release on Manual Music we now see new interpretations from Darin Epsilon and Hubert Kicrcher.

Darin Epsilon has long been one of the USA's most loved electronic music artists. The Los Angeles based producer has seen his studio work appear on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Nick Warren's Hope Recordings and his own Perspectives Digital imprint. As a result Darin's DJ gigs have flourished on a global scale with recent tours in Argentina, India, Canada and all over the United States. Darin's unique take on melodic techno has lent itself perfectly to 'In the Dark'. The US producer's luminescent tones carry a deep, hypnotic quality which just enhance the wispy nature of Alice's gorgeous vocals. The accompanying rhythms are suitably contemporary and Darin's ever-evolving musical theme reaches a tantalising peak which you won't soon forget.

The second remix is supplied by Hubert Kirchner who is making his first appearance on Manual Music. The Dutch producer's deep and soulful melodies have been showcased on Traum, Open Records and morgen.am. For his 'In the Dark' interpretation Hubert has masterfully recreated the hypnotic elements over a tough, dynamic groove which seems perfectly tailored for today's dance floors. The emotional content of the record peaks during a tension filled main break and carries through a charged second act which is full of wonderfully sculpted modulation. A standout interpretation from Hubert.

Also included on the release is a brand new remix of 'Urban Suitcase' from Scotty.A. Having also appeared on Paul's 'Adapt' LP 'Urban Suitcase' was one of the albums most club worthy creations. It's chunky foundation and big, punishing beats had an immediate impact and dance floors have been following suit with amazing reactions ever since. This is Scotty's debut appearance on Manual Music and he's delivered an exceptional complement to the original version. The UK producer has laid down a wonderful groove with dubby rhythms and a wicked late night vibe. The hypnotic energy of the composition builds mightily over its eight minute duration and it's sure to be something that lights up intelligent dance floors across the globe.

    Release Date: 14 July 2014

    02. Soulwerk - The Lost Paradise (Luis Bondio Remix) [Proton Music | Promo]

Before reincarnation saw rebirth under the pseudonym, Soulwerk, Spanish producer, Gonzalo Luque, had already garnered a well-earned reputation for himself operating out of his home in the Madrid capital. Early work for native labels quickly blossomed into highly regarded productions for such established imprints including Cr2 and Monique Musique. The Soulwerk debut for Canadian imprint, Whose Haus, provided a platform for a subsequent 2011 release on Cid Inc.'s Replug, with further work for Lowbit, Mango Alley and Change Audio.

The original of 'The Lost Paradise' was released in March 2014 as part of Soulwerk's 'Searching For You Through The Stars' EP on Proton Music [PROTON0247]. 08 Blond:ish - Birds Eat Birds [Kompakt | KOM 308]

Thanks to their immaculate taste in music and impressive presence behind the decks, BLOND:ISH's Anstascia and Vivie-Ann have established a firm reign over global dance floors - but even more astounding is their continued bravura in the studio as evidenced by their latest offering WUNDERKAMMER: here, you'll witness them delving ever deeper into the psychedelic influences that already informed their LOVERS IN LIMBO EP (KOMPAKT 253) and INWARD VISIONS (KOMPAKT 26 releases.

Last year has been quite a ride for BLOND:ISH, with the duo working through an incredibly busy tour schedule: a rewarding experience for sure, but certainly not the ideal backdrop for reclusive producing sessions. To reconnect with their studio flow, our protagonists decided to take some time off and headed to Tulum, Mexico - one of the last citys built by the Mayas, this arcadian place now became the personal paradise for two crazy gringas setting up a little studio and going on field recording trips. It's where they would try to commit to tape the sounds of chanting street merchants, roaring dirt bikes and whispering ancient ruins. Yes, you got that picture right: Blond:ish were stalking the coconut guy with a field recorder. You're welcome.

It's no wonder, then, that WUNDERKAMMER presents itself as a tremedously atmospheric package, with its three cuts drenched in intriguing textures and exotic fumes.

Fittingly, the opening title track kicks things off with some heavy reverb engulfing the raspy guitar strumming, placing us right where BLOND:ISH left us with their masterful INWARD VISIONS EP almost exactly one year earlier: again, it's a somewhat surreal setting that we're presented with, a place full of trapdoors, double entendres and contorted perspectives - all held together by relentless beat programming and semisynthetic voice snippets luring us deeper into the subterranean maze.

A ruminating and downright creepy anthem, this perfectly primes the ears for BIRDS EAT BIRDS, the flipside's belligerent main floor cut that rules over its bleeping synth troops with the allure of a mad, yet triumphant king.

The lunacy certainly doesn't stop there - it just changes its apparition with STOLEN ROMANCE, WUNDERKAMMER's sweeping, abyssal closing track. In what can be reckoned among the sneakier hallucinogens on offer, BLOND:ISH let all towering delusions collapse and adopt a self-reflective stance, creating their own post-apocalyptic downbeat manifesto in the process.

    Release Date: 21 July 2014

    09. Kassey Voorn - Before You Fall feat. Amber Long (Trinkets EP) [Tulipa Recordings | TULIPA080]

Within the shaded gardens Kassey Voorn, Amber Long, Matthias Korr, Child, Queemose, Miinuetto, and Pete Mccarthey add their Trinkets to the basket. This small collection of shimmery treasures consists of musical ornaments that will be relished by Tulipa onlookers.

Before You Fall, Friends, Naughty Boy, Modonovo, and Hallucinate were all conceived within a melodic womb and have grown exponentially in the Tulipa Recordings homestead.

All five songs are exquisite. Beautiful evenings on the morphing pier. Pearl-like clouds expand across the sky. The vermin. Crazy for the love that sank into the lake. Casting a spell on desert times. Please do not go there. Shining brightly in the mad realm. The capacity for empathy. Dreams scattered on the lawn. Lazy days liquify and are forgotten. She longed for a moment that was fleeting. Inspect the result and forfeit the pleasure. Squeeze into something breathtaking.

Options for the late night. 2014
