Just been blackballed from Pappa's Facebook group. It seems some people can't comprehend why Joris Voorn was selected for a Global Underground release over Anthony Pappa. Someone needs to tell them that it is not the year 2000 anymore.

I would have to agree with them . But blackballed for different taste in music is a bit much.

I have seen Pappa play so many times here in Melbourne. He is totally up to date believe me. He is effortlessly bloody brilliant !!

Pappa hasn't been relevant for over 20 years, why would he be asked to do a GU album? Pappa might be a nice guy, but so is my Deliveroo driver, he isn't getting a GU either. Even Mrs Pappa is having a go.

They can have Solomun, Paddy and Voorn (top names) but the magic has gone.

The essential Mix is a different story. As you once noticed, Tong doesn't really like Prog: no Pappa, Quivver or Tomiie. Fortier never did a full two hour studio mix.

If you fantasise about doing an Essential Mix or a GU, just knock up a 2 hour mix, or do two 70 minute mixes including some artwork of you in the landscape and pretend that you were commissioned for it.
