Chords progression galore on this new track Karoshi (which means in Japanese "death from overwork" - which clearly states the mindstate upon this track was produced). Out now on Beatport, a two-tracker EP including also "Island of Stability". Banging tech-house!

Bio

Starting in 1998 as an EBM / Industrial project, Mechanique - alias of a Portuguese designer called Jaime Paiva – naturally and rapidly evolved from the inspiring influences of Nitzer Ebb and Front242 into the soundscapes of Techno and House music.

The chance to be published for the first time came with the national contest promoted by DanceClub magazine in 2001, whose prize was having a track released on the mag’s compilation.  
After some months only, he saw his first EP, “Hookers on Dope”, being pressed in vinyl and released by the Portuguese label Kaos Records. This brought Mechanique to public attention, thanks to Kaos Records’ legendary A&R Dj Vibe, who fostered the release, and to the excellent feedback received by big artists like Danny Tenaglia, John Creamer & Stephane K, Dj Yellow, Low End Specialists and Buddha Morales, among others.  

Since then, Mechanique has produced dozens of original tracks and remixed the works of some of the most exquisite artists in the scene. Up to date, about half a hundred tracks with his signature were licensed to labels such as Kung Fu Dub, Arabica, Manuscript, Composure UK, Universal and Aenaria, among others, while his name has appeared in releases alongside those of Hakan Lidbo, Jussi-Pekka, EBE, Lucas Rodenbush, Jeff Bennett, Kriece, Subsky, SQL, Pako & Frederik or Cristian Paduraru – among which many were supported by artists like Hernan Cattaneo, The Timewriter, Luca Ricci, Alland Byallo or Brendon Moeller.   In parallel with production and live performance, Mechanique also runs his own label, Benthic Recordings, focusing in scouting quality Tech-House, Deep-Tech and Dub-Techno, all styles that had a particular impact on his musical choice and taste throughout his career, since the very beginning.

02. Gregor Tresher - Lights From The Inside (Nick Curly Remix) (The Remixes Pt.1) [Break New Soil Recordings | BNS025]

Gregor Tresher"s recent full-length album "Lights From The Inside- has been praised by the press, DJs and fans alike as yet another masterpiece in a long line of releases that has cemented Gregor"s status as one of the most consistent artists in modern electronic music. Tracks like "Leaving-, "Through The Shadow Glass- and "As Days Go By- (pre-released on Josh Wink"s Ovum imprint) found their way into playlists and charts of many of the usual suspects in the international Techno circuit.

While Gregor is halfway into an extensive 6-month world tour, we are now very proud to present the album remixes. Gregor invited five of his favourite producers of the moment to remix their favourite tracks from the album. The remixes are split over two 12"s.

First up we have Nic Fanciulli, who once again shows why he is one of the most in-demand artists of the moment, giving that special Saved-touch to his interpretation of "Lights From The Inside- by turning the more contemplative original into an A-class primetime weapon for summer-dancefloors!

Next up we have Dave Sumner aka Function, one half of the mighty Sandwell District, who adds his signature, dark and twisted touch to his interpretation of "Through The Shadow Glass- by really focusing on the "shadows- - we can see this remix tearing things up at the more industrial Techno floors.

For the second remix sampler we have Dosem from Spain - every fan of electronic music will be aware of his recent productions on Tronic or Sino - finding the perfect balance of melodies and dancefloor-appeal once again! With his moody approach, Nick Curly (together with production partner Gorge) from the now-famous Mannheim area, pays respect to the melodious vibe of the original track delivering another highlight of the package.

Last but not least we have a remix by one of the most recent Break New Soil contributors: Patrick Siech, truly one of the producers of Sweden"s new school of Techno, chose "Echelon- and transformed the already massive original into something even bigger. It"s a nice coincidence that with this release by labelowner Gregor Tresher himself, Break New Soil celebrates the anniversary of being 25 releases young. Here"s to many years to come! Enjoy!

03. Inxec vs. Droog - Westbound [Crosstown Rebels | CRM081]

[New Release] Finally out is the long anticipated EP from Inxec and Droog called “Westbound” on Crosstown Rebels. I’ve literally been hooked to the title track since I first heard it in the beginning of April from the video below (Recap from Steve Bug – Culprit Sessions 17). Inxec & Droog make a fantastic pairing here, lending their skills to yet another smash Crosstown release. In addition to the title track, Inxec & Droog put forth three other gems on this EP including ‘Unhinged’, rivaling Westbound as the star of the release. Well done, full support here.

[RA Review 4/5]

While I would ordinarily be worried about one British guy going up against three guys from LA—especially if those guys have a label called Culprit and an artist alias called Droog—the results of this collaborative/combative EP make it seem like everyone's a winner: four excursions into moody, spellbinding tech house that are among the best that Crosstown has put out this year.

The mercurial, multi-directional title track comes loaded with trippy motifs, and of the four tracks seems the most overtly composed by a group, with everyone's contributions getting whittled down into dreamlike slivers that occasionally pop in out of nowhere. The fat synths lay coiled like rattlesnakes and will occasionally lash out in trance-y bursts, while half-rapped vocals and redneck exclamations about "waking up places that you don't know how you got there" are sure to confuse you.

"Unhinged" takes the spooky formula and wraps it around an uptempo house jack and haunting, wobbly-pitched vocal for what is perhaps the record's standout track. The lyric "pulling me...closer..." is sung in an eerie way that straddles the line between sensual and creepy, a reminder of the element of vertigo that underlies all forms of seduction.

"Sleepless Knights" is a trashy, almost French-housey burner that confirms this EP is a bit like a mullet haircut: business in the front, party in the rear, with the preppy, well-tailored grooves of the title track strongly contrasting with the bombast of "Sleepless Knights." It plateaus in a touch of cleverly emotive synth-pop before spiraling into twinkly outer space—a bit like the Pet Shop Boys caught in a furious k-hole.

04. Hal Incandenza - Little Mountains (Mono Electric Orchestra Remix) [Natura Sonoris | NS026]

Following on from Henry Saiz' critically acclaimed Balance 019 compilation, Natura Sonoris has joined forces with Balance Music to extract 3 offerings from the superb CD mix. Each volume contains exclusive remixes of the chosen tracks by some of the most exciting new names of the electronic music scene.

Volume 1 is the track that really kicks things off on Disc 1 of the mix. Henry Saiz' underground alias Hal Incandenza offers what he is known for in the shape of Psychedelic, Disco House fusion and future classic "Little Mountains" with 5 remixes including a masterclass from Henry himself.    Other remixes include a sublime Tech House re-work from New York based producer, Mono Electric Orchestra. A bouncing Deep House rendition from Cecile takes the original to the smoother of dancefloors which is joined by the fun loving House re-make from Shelby Grey and finishing with an avantgarde psychedelic trip from spain's rising talent Armed.

Gui Boratto is truly that success story that aspiring dance producers dream of. From his Brazilian home of Săo Paolo as a student of architecture and design, he quickly found himself in the position as one of the countries primary pop/rock producers (including work for Steel Pulse). It was with his 2005 debut Kompakt release on the K2 sub-label "Arquipélago" that shot him into prominence and paved a strong path of singles that led to the now classic full length "Chromophobia".

The lead singles "Mr. Decay" and "Beautiful Life" remain two of the most unforgettable tracks in Kompakt history - the latter official video with well over a million views on YouTube. It was his sophomore album, the 2009 breakthrough, "Take My Breath Away" which evolved him as a dance producer further into a realm of his own right as one of Brazil's most established musicians. His remixes for Pet Shop Boys, Massive Attack and co-producing Bomb The Bass further demonstrate this tremendous talent amongst us. Following a world-wide rollercoaster of almost 3 years continuously on the road touring, Gui Boratto found himself back in his Săo Paolo studio in early 2011. The results are here with "III" – arguably his greatest musical accomplishment to date.

Kicking off with the slo drive "Galuchat" the sitar-ish instrumental embedded in the track sets a foundation of melancholic organic groove found throughout "III". "Stems From Hell" will not disappoint the die-hard fan – his masterful approach to the maximum and minimum of sound variation is pure peak time. "Striker" was originally intended for his second full length but was left on hold and fortunately completed for "III". Featuring vocals from Gui Boratto himself, his contagious bass line has no limit recalling the likes of Echo And The Bunnymen. Gui began "III" with "The Third" – a gorgeous play on the four/four pattern that suddenly moves from eight bars to only six. Hi-hats become almost shuffle like in their flow. Gui Boratto said about going into producing "The Trap" that "the good thing about doing an album are the possibilities of experimentalism". He lets his instinct totally flow as a Rhodes, Piano and Tremolo Guitar converse with one another. Beauty and sadness remarkably collide.

A sure album highlight, "Destination: Education" marks the return of his wife Luciana Villanova on vocals (who also sings on "Beautiful Life"). A 119 techno/house crooner that will be a surefire favorite on the modern dance floor. Gui lovingly alikens "Flying Practice" as a part of the three bars that grace the album cover. Classic trance chording build a variety of moods and builds. A French horn make the transition and conclusion. "Soledad" is directly inspired and pays homage Astor Piazzolla's "Soleda" and ironically a little of Duran Duran's "Save A Prayer". This journey ends off with "This Is Not The End" – an indie minded track that demonstrates how masterful Gui Boratto has evolved his signature sound into something quite monumental. Again, Luciana Villanova's beautiful vocals captures the spirit of what Boratto brings to life. Rounded off with a final synth that makes you feel that something WILL continue – not end.

07. Deepfunk - Monday (Luis Bondio Unofficial Remix) [Unreleased]

Luis Bondio was born in Cordoba, Argentina in 1985, is a dj & producer from that showed early interest in music in general. Influenced by celebrities of electronics such as Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha, Martin Garcia and others has defined its distinctive sound.  

Shared booth with artists like Martin Garcia, Jason Jollins, Federico Epis, Manuel Sofia, Marcelo Vasami, etc., had international participation appearing at the Club Sweet Santiago of Chile, was twice invited by the prestigious Frisky Radio show to your most important¨Artists of the Week ¨. Participated in the first getFrisky in his city and is the creator of the cycle and radio show ¨Classound¨, has signed with labels like, Lowbit Records, Stripped Recordings, Baires Records, In4mation Records (Mex), Deepsessions Recording (Greece), 7 Seas NuWave Records (Hun), Balkan  Connection (Arg) and others. Its objectives are based on follow expanding their musical knowledge and generate new projects.

Gamelan from Allan Cowie (aka Red Devil) was originally released in 1998 on Sheffield based Choo Choo Records [CHCH03] and appeared on CD2 of Sasha & John Digweed's third Northern Exposure instalment : Expeditions. The Vinyl re-release in 1999 had a 'Dirty Hooker' remix from Choo Choo owoners Mara (Barry Gilbey and Sara Whittaker).

Here we get South American progressive maestro Martin Garcia on the remix.

"Babe, you're right...Hernan IS the BEST DJ! I'm sold! We've GOT to go see him live!"

How awesome is that?!

Her and i are both originally trance fans altho i started much earlier than her...which means i discovered the true beauty of prog before she did.
She's def a late bloomer...but she's really got around to lovin house (Wisternoff, Fair) and the deeper stuff from progressive.

Point is i been preachin the good word of Hernan to her since we first met 2 and a half yrs ago, and it was with THIS mix that she finally went from liking him to LOVING him

A few tracks in this mix were mind-blowingly good to me..some of the best i've heard in a few months :
