    Release Notes:

    01. Quenum - 5AM (Mathew Jonson Remix) (Face To Face Remixed) [Serialism Records | SER024]

    Quenum Face To Face Remixed
A1. Basic Solution (Cesare vs Disorder Remix)
    A2. 5AM (Tiefschwarz Remix) B1. 5AM (Mathew Jonson Remix)
Digi: Ritual (Frank Haag's Ceremonial Reritualisation)

After Quenum’s debut album, the richly textured and atmospheric masterpiece ‘Face To Face’, Serialism prepares to release a striking remix package featuring three distinct voices in electronic music. ‘Basic Solution’’s raw fluid energy is encased in a pulsing, staccato framework by Cesare Vs Disorder as the meandering bassline emerges and gives way to the original distorting synth line. 5AM is first given a more pumping dancefloor sheen by Tiefschwarz and next a typically epic and mindbending journey from Mathew Jonson. Lastly Frank Haag delivers a spooky rework of ‘Ritual’ that tightens the groove into a rolling hypnotic hypnotic head trip that will also move the floor.

    Released by: Serialism Records
    Release/catalogue number: SER024
    Release date: May 12, 2014

    02. Rework - Rise And Fall [Visionquest | VQ041]

Ahead of the release of their third studio album 'You Play' - out on Visionquest in May - Rework drop the 'Rise and Fall' EP featuring two compelling tracks from the album plus a brand new track on the B-side. 'Rise and Fall' is a full blown dancefloor workout of driving intensity, hypnotic drum patterns and rhythmic vox while 'Ask You' demonstrates the bands propensity for a chugging colourful, cosmic groove and a dash of signature Anglo-french modern sass. 'I'm Waiting' provides a glimpse into the talented trio's deeper style with a moody soundbed of dubby textures and kicking grooves.

Daniel Varga and Michael Kuebler formed Rework in the year 2000. Five years later Sascha Hedgehog, front girl of the French beat-punk band Les Quitriche joined the group. They earned their dance music stripes with a series of strong releases, most notably on Frankfurt-based techno institution Playhouse.

More recently their accolades include releases on Magda's Items & Things and the Parisian label Meant records, and they are currently collaborating with Jennifer Cardini, Seth Troxler (with a release penned for his new label this Spring also) and many others.

Aside from producing their own music, Rework have done remixes for the likes of Alter Ego, Chloe, Magda, Losoul and Trentemoller and have launched their own record label Loveyeah early in 2014.

    Release date: May 5, 2014

    03. Matthias Meyer - November Rain (Mario Basanov Remix) (Becuz EP) [Watergate Records | WGVINYL17]

We are overjoyed to announce the next candidate for our label-catalogue after Kerri Chandlers 'The Watergate Files' EP. New Watergate resident Matthias Meyer was recently added to our booking agency - his debut on Watergate Records is called 'Becuz' and hereby it immediately answers every potential question.

The eponymous Track has the atmospheric density of an approaching storm front that discharges into epic organ-hooks and shredded vocals. Appropriate to that the B-side begins with 'November Rain", a beat-driven techno-anthem with foggy synth-spheres and 'closed eyes"-attitude.

Mario Basanovs a.k.a. Ten Walls' interpretation has more contours and a percussive touch that keeps the mood of the original unchanged: November rain in a tropical rainforest. An astonishing EP with two great tracks and a wonderful remix. 'Becuz' EP will be released on May 12th on vinyl and digital.

    Release date: May 13, 2014

    04. Mario Hammer - Call Of Cthulhu [MBF Ltd | MBFLTD12055]

Mario Hammer has release on Tour de Traum and as part of RWAC on Trapez. So one can truthfully call him a person with many musical identities who is hard to pin down. This is his first release on MBF LTD with the epic project of "Cthulhu".

"Call Of Cthulhu" plunges into an impressive 3 minute intro that step by step pulls in rhythm elements and a more then massive bass-line. The track has a cool vintage feeling of early Detroit techno in combination with an ambient dub characteristic. Mario Hammer is a master at blending genres and so the Basic Channel like chord only represent a piece of the cosmos he paints here in chimes.

"Cthulhu Wake Up" is in a way the continuation of a very similar feeling but brought to you by a massive sliding or bending bass-line, a sequenced melody and a very nice percussion with tons of delays. This is a hypnotic piece of music with an intense layering of sounds creating a strong dynamic while it sets one foot in front of the next.We hope to hear more from Mario Hammer in this style.

    Release date: Apr 23, 2014

    05. King Midas - Snow (Nils Noa Remix) [Fysisk Format | Promo]

"They are from Oslo and I'm a big fan. This is the first single from their latest album Rozzo, and actually their first release in 6 years. The whole album is amazing. Check them out, a hidden treasure. Snow has this crossover feel to it, with a warm analog sound and a bit of a club feel in there as well." [Nils Noa]

    [Inhale Review]

For the next release, Norway’s Troll Records label boss, Nils Noa, picks out some of his favourite tracks of recent times and gives them some fine remix treatment. He does so with a knowing hand that proves he has many different tricks up his sleeve.

Noa is also the DJ and booker at Oslo's superb The Villa, and is adept at crafting killer breakbeats, techno and house jams with real charm. He has already appeared on the legendary Radio 1 Essential Mix and has achieved great success in his native Norway and beyond.

First up he tackles ‘Snow’ by King Midas, who have won a Norwegian Grammy in the rock category for their Fysisk Format album Rosso!. The result is a freewheeling house track with scale riding melodies, jumbled, organic beats and percussion and soulful vocal stylings. Funky guitar riffs and warm hand drums also pepper the infectious and celebratory groove. A dub version is also included of this track before next up is his rework ‘The Beat’ by Nosizwe.

This one is a fatter, more plump and deep house groove that is imbued with buried deep chords, breathy vocals and slinky percussive tricks that dance and bounce along with the groove. Again a dub version of this one is included for those more heads down moments on the floor.

Finally, Nils Noa gets to work on Fender Heist feat Frĝder’s ‘Fighter’. This one is a richly melodic, lush vocal affair that lifts you up and carries you away on a nice organic beat. Spacey synths spiral around the up-down beats and you happy whistle and hum along. Again, if you aren’t a vocal fan there’s a dub included that does just as much damage.

Across his remixes here Nils Noa displays a true breadth of talent that proves why he is such an integral figure on both the Norway and wider international scene.

    [King Midas]

The rumours of the current state of King Midas have sprawled the Oslo music underground; some said the band was disbanded and gone bankrupt in the vegetable business, some said they paid their various debts by selling their instruments and that they've been making an acapella triple-album. "The only thing you know about the music business, is that there are no guarantees" one of the producers of the Oscar winning documentary "Searching For Sugarman" said. That quote could just as well be about King Midas, one of Norway's most mythical bands from the 90′s and 00′s.

Great expectations have always rested on King Midas' shoulders, but the band has never cared about anything but themselves and their own musical ambition. Psychedelic electronica at the end of the nineties. Glittering glam-rock in the mid-zeroes. The last six years the band has spent a few thousand hours in studio perfecting their modern blues. They themselves call it outsider music -- music created despite musical conventions and correctness.

King Midas is currently working on a so far untitled album of unkown content. Due for a 2013 release.

    06. GusGus - Crossfade (Michael Mayer Mix) [Kompakt | KOM DIGITAL 040]

It's the first vital sign of the upcoming new GUSGUS full-length - primer single CROSSFADE unites all the beloved traits of Iceland's iconic outfit: the flamboyant vocals, the anthemic pop infusions, the driving beats. You'll need experienced remixers to tackle this kind of larger- than-life glamour, but with MACEO PLEX, KONSTANTIN SIBOLD, MICHAEL MAYER and GLUTEUS MAXIMUS we've rounded up an impressive posse of producers that know how take their cues from this vibrant piece of music.

              Thanks for uploading.

Martin played in his debut Australian tour last night on a boat. Unfortunately didn't get the chance to attend, but it's good to see him getting outside of Argentina & some world wide exposure through Transitions.
