I watched this the other night. SBS for Australia, It as just so incredibly sad. As well as the church her mother was just awful. When she said how much she cried when her mother died. It was for the mother she never had and now could never have.

I really, really wish I had listened more while she was alive. There was just so much about her that was so special. A very complicated but amazing person . She never compromised !

Fascinating but horrible too.


Troubled life from childhood onwards.

And she spoke out against the horrific catholic church child abuse.
And paid for it with her career.

and then her son committed suicide.

Tragic.

Her rendition of "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" is my absolute favorite of any done.

Oh, and while I'm spending these moments reliving her other great tunes, "This is the Last Day of Our Acquaintance" and "I am Stretched on Your Grave" are brilliant.
