there is a link to the left that takes you to hurricanehunters and some stuff from the military: those crazy fuckers who fly into hurricanes. Some amazing imagery. You can view images from above from previous hurricanes too. I'm waiting to see what ones come back from Karina and Rita in the future from above.Comment

i don't really follow the 1, 2,3 rule tho. you? i get that it helps designate the danger path, i'm just not sure how they come about with the numbers and project that path. and it's a fairly wide range of error it seems.Comment

if you click the last box, the forcast points, you can already see it drifting even further east since the latest update. also notable, clicking the wind model in that loop, and seeing which way the wind is pushing at the moment.
that noaa site is very infomative. there are all sorts of links where you can check real time stats on weather bouys placed in the gulf checking wind speeds and water levels and such.Comment

Probably not doing much fleeing atm. There is a 100 MILE backup on I-45. They're trying to get it where they can open up the Southbound lanes to Northbound traffic.
