Saw it tonight, and honestly, I wasnt impressed at all. I think people are making a bigger deal out of this movie than they really need to be. JMHO

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."

Heath Ledger's performance is undoubtedly amazing. Dead or not. But without him, the movie would be quite ordinary

True but without him, they'd have developed another villain or concentrated on the Two-Face story so I wouldn't go as far as to say the movie would've been ordinary without Joker.

maybe a tad too long and some dialogs where too long but an ace movie.

Yeah I was surprised at the length and the heavy dialogs in some parts, but it helps add to the epic feel ... probably why Kevin Smith described it as the Godfather of comic book films.

Saw it again tonight. Did anyone notice the score/soundtrack? Seldom hear a score that works so well with a movie, really adds to the epic feel of the film.

And Gary Oldman rocks too. He delivered his monologues much more naturally than the rest (excepting Heath Ledger who's still amazing the second time).

                                But Batman's voice still sucks.

Saw it for a second time today, what a great film.

Also caught a possible hint towards who we may see in Batman 3. After Lucius reworks the batsuit in the beginning Batman asks "Will it protect against dogs?"

                                    Fox replies, "Maybe against cats"

                                    hmmmmm......

Was the guy on the boat Bane?! The prisoner who threw away the detonator?? If they're gonna have Bane in pt 3, the movie will have to be a 2-parter ... the Knightfall saga was pretty long 'cos Bane broke Batman's back so Batman had to retire to heal but he set someone else up as a replacement Batman; that guy went nuts and eventually Batman had to reign his replacement in and go after Bane.

All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.

Saw this on Sunday and thought it was immense. Agree on everything said about Ledger - his performance is one of the best of all time. If he doesn't get the Oscar then Hollywood can expect a serious backlash IMO.

The only things I would say lightly spoil the movie are:

                                                            - it's a tad too long
                                                            - it's made so well and so believable that you forget you are watching a comic book film - so when you see Dent's burns it kind of makes you realise that it is only a comic book
                                                            - Batman's voice is horrific
