Re: i p a - a BEER thread!! (aka sasha's favorite beer)
Part of me is almost thankful I no longer live in San Diego, they have 65 microbreweries alone in that county and the amount of options at local restaurants there is staggering and nearly impossible NOT to partake regularly. Orlando is slowly getting its act together with craft micro brews, but nowhere near the scale in SD...

Six Point Resin, such an aptly named beer- a rich piney resinous IPA, so good.
Some bottles i've opened in the past week or two:
Three Floyds Apocalypse Cow - Double IPA with Milk Sugar added, as rich and awesome as it sounds.
Cantillon Classic Gueze - Finally landed some of this from belgiuminabox. Shipping was almost as much as the half case of beers, but so worth it, and looking forward to cellaring the rest and enjoying over the next few years as it continues to ferment in the bottle.
Backwoods Bastard - Founders bourbon barrel scotch ale. This was a 2011, much of the alcohol sweetness you get from a fresh one has almost completely gone away exposing a nice malt backbone, but I missed the bourbon heat. I prefer this fresh. Noted for future cellaring.
Boulevard Love Child 3 - lactobacillus, champagne yeast, bourbon barrels - fucking sign me up!! Easily the best beer Boulevard makes, and one of my favorite seasonals. Lactic sourness, with a richer finish. Such a quality sour ale. Bought several of these, looking forward to seeing what time does to this.
Three Floyds Arctic Panzer Wolf - It's getting hard to distinguish three floyds IIPAs apart from each other, this could have easily been Dreadnaught and I wouldn't have been able to tell them apart, or maybe I just don't drink enough Three Floyds as it's not readily available in my area, have to pick it up on work travel.
Locally, Perennial Artisan Ales keeps cranking out the awesome. Beers with blueberries, raspberries, barrel aged, saisons, tripels with honey, such ingenuity pouring out of that brewery on a weekly basis- highly recommend if you see anything on the shelf in your area from Perennial.Leave a comment:

Leffe is good. I like it.
I just started finally liking IPA's last year when I lived in Seattle. They seem to be all over the place out there and I finally took a fancy to them. Used to hate all the hoppyness but it's not so bad now. Still not my fav style for sure, but I am starting to appreciate them more. A couple of current fav's:

Well my fellow beer gnerdz, I believe when asdf made that comment in '06 Torpedo wasn't being produced. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is an APA, not an IPA. The Torpedo came out in '09 and is an actual IPA.
Put that in yer pipe and smoke it.
