Of course you aren't going to have high poly characters or highly detailed environments. So either you get a smaller environment or "bad graphics". I'm actually impressed with the character modelling considering what compromises they are forced to make.

I realise graphics aren't the be-all and end-all, but this is a big game from a big company, and considering the graphical quality of games already out, it's a little disappointing.

That said, it's probably a console concession; the memory + processor requirements on a game like GTA are likely fairly demanding (the game has to keep track of the state of everything in the city) so todays consoles may not be up to high-quality textures & fancy graphical effects in addition.

I remember back in the day with the top down view and it was amazing. I remember the London Pack, holy shit was that game hard!

this game will kick ass. all the gtas are addictive. this looks like it'll be the best of the all even though the drunk driving mission on vice was killer.

Looks very cool. Can't wait for it to come out.

Honestly, the GTA series has never been about graphics, it's been about Gameplay, which I think should be the supreme demand of any game. Graphics just tell me that they put a really nice icing job on what could be a shit cake.
