Re: Rapper Proof slain in Detroit nightclub

I am sure most people do not want their children listening to people saying my bitches and hoes, unless they were pimps. Then they would want their kids to learn the lingo at a young age.

Masta P

Nigga Nigga never let a nigga
Front you no dizos

Keep one up in the chamber
For the jackas and the dope fiends
Fools come short get rowdy
Kick down doors
Show mutha fuckas that ya bout it bout it
Break ki's down to oz's
Never buy any dope
Without weighin it on the triple beam
Fuck soda use B-12
Keep a stash for the drought and take other niggas clientele
Check the man made junk for residue
Cause every fiend you miss want three or two
1. Never talk on the phone in ya house
2. Never slang dope out ya baby momma's house
3. Never fuck with snitches
Cause niggas that talk to the police is bitches
4. Keep a low key
And if you movin weight
Treat yo'self to an uzi
The first hit for free (damn)
But the next time you beep me
You betta have twenty G
5. Never pay
Pimp hoes for the pussy
That's the 'Merican way
Clean up ya dirty money to good money
Cause legal money last longer than drug money.

Re: Rapper Proof slain in Detroit nightclub

again you are stereotyping....not everyone in that scene is like that. Yes I know that people do all of the above mentioned things....I just get frustrated hearing people say that "all people" are that way.

we as a scene are stereotyped as well...doesn't it frustrate you to think as soon as you tell someone you listen to house or whatever style you listen to, then thinks "oh you do drugs or you must be gay or you must be a gino"

no shit im sterotyping. im sure there are prog house DJ's who hate gays and druggies. and im also sure that the majority of ppl who listen to rap from an early age get too much negative influence on thier behaviour. but im biased, my sis kate, is a teacher in the NYC system in Kew gardens, and the horror stories she tells me..... these kids know what guns are what and they dont know who ron reagan and jimmy carter were.

^^ i say a field trip to my crack house...er home..... a day or two here will greatly change your perspective on this subject. if you leave the front window the first night you're here i'd flip.... i don't need tv... reality television is my window.

Re: Rapper Proof slain in Detroit nightclub

im going to try to be as brief as possible on this:

its very obvious that alot of peoples view on rap in this thread is skewed by what they catch on BET or the local pseudo hip hop clowns you see at your mall. THAT IS NOT WHAT RAP IS ABOUT!, rap music is a beautiful thing, im not sure what bullshit hip hop you guys are listening to where they all talk about platinum chains and expensive cars, but rap is as wide as a genre as electronic music. check out common, mos def, dead prez, talib kwali, rappers that talk about the struggle black people went through and how we can help the black community, alot of it is positive and they lay it down with a sick flow. hip hop is also global, i listen to alot of british and french hip hop as well as the stateside stuff check out: roots manuva, jehst, super sayin crew. Also be sure to check out styles of beyond and jedi mind tricks.

also be sure to check out: phi life cypher, looptroop, lewis parker, planet asia, mf doom, cannibal ox, people under the stairs, and anything by immortal technique. if your into the more instrumental side of hip hop be sure to peep machinedrum and prefuse 73

Re: Rapper Proof slain in Detroit nightclub

i still don't understand why white people listen to rap/hiphop

Re: Rapper Proof slain in Detroit nightclub

my sis kate, is a teacher in the NYC system in Kew gardens, and the horror stories she tells me..... these kids know what guns are what and they dont know who ron reagan and jimmy carter were.

Wouldn't that be a problem with the education that they're receiving then? Why would a parent discuss Jimmy Carter with their children during normal conversation? Seems like their public education is lacking. Are you really trying to make a link between kids listening to rap music and not knowing who Ronald Reagan or Jimmy Carter are?
