I dont believe in a god, however I find it funny how people who believe in god in this thread are so insecure about their beliefs they don't argue their reasons why they believe in god just like bullshit like this.

Scary that that's the case in other parts of the world... I think organized religion is a reflection of human nature. So is organized anything, for that matter. It has the potential to be good, it has the potential to be bad. And there will always be some sub-grouping of douchebags who can't compromise and will go out of their way to fuck things up for others. It doesn't matter much if you're talking religion, atheists (don't forget the commies - atheists are no better), government, or the local PTA. You'll see the same ugly sides of humanity anytime someone feels that they are so justified in their course of action that nothing else matters.

then they could join those other religious zealots willing to die for the cause and we could throw a wall around the city and let em battle it out WWF steel cage style, last remaining survivor wins and gets thrown at the atheists

An ICM poll in 2004 found that 91 percent of Americans believed in the supernatural, 74 percent believed in an afterlife and 71 percent said they were willing to die for their beliefs.
Man I'd love to see those 71 percent live up to it

also, on topic. while i will not openly call for it for various reasons (read:atriot act) i wouldnt mind seeing reverend phelps have his house burned down while he sleeps. that is one religious asshole i have a problem with.
