          OMG!

fortunately hurricanes don't make it up to new york city all that often.

i am going down to florida for vacation in 10 days. glad i'm not there right now.

          stay safe, my floridian friends...

Yeah but Frances is a million times more dangerous and people are actually running away from it.

It's a category two now...starting to weaken. The bands are sucking in some dry air, which is calming down that bastard. Things could always of course...

Don't know how long I'll lose cable/power for this time. I just wanted to come on here and wish everyone good luck! My roommate and I didn't evacuate (we're in Orlando) so we're going to ride it out. Again, good luck everyone!

This is about the weirdest storm. It's completely stationary right now. Weird. It could either fizzle or gain strength then hit land. I never seen this happen. When it's moves at 9 MPH they said we'd feel it's effects for 30 - 36 hours. Hope the power won't go because I'll pull what hair I have left right out.

update from Miami. so far a near miss. nasty winds but you can go outside although I dont reccomend it for too long or a tree might hit you. A large guava tree was snapped at the trunk in my house today. as you can tell, we still have power!!! yay. overall, lots of bark and little bite. andrew, now there was a scary ass hurricane!!!! I was here for that too. the bigeest problem with frances is that it is incredibly slow so we might have lots of flooding and severe beach errosion.
