Re: FAO Mac Owners
If you already have a display for your desktop, you can just hook up your MBP to it and have dual displays when at home... and then the 17" doesn't seem so essential anymore...Mike!
Bigger is not better?
I am almost bought a G4 for 700 the other day. I cleaned around my desk, printed out the 200+ page manual and asked myself are you willing to buy this out dated technology and be happy? I said no. I like the 17 inch, but you are correct probably 15 would be nice in the sense of travel and what not. Fuck. Options. I just can not wait to see Apples new line up. Gonna be smoking whatever it is.Leave a comment:

Your sources are defintely speculating a hell of a lot less than mine... I kinda look forward to disappointing themthere is no way in hell quad core chips are coming to MacBook Pros just yet... not until 45nm is the standard and heat goes down... however, an update IS coming... more than likely with the upcoming Santa Rosa platform in May, slightly faster CPU, faster system bus, flash on board, etc etc...

Re: FAO Mac Owners
I was pretty close to picking up a Sony Notebook for my b'day, in fact the one I had my eye on has actually fallen $200 in price. But after this thread, I'm pretty sure I wanna dive into the world of Apple at least once to see what the fuss is all about.
15" MBP will defo be on the charts next year.Leave a comment:

Re: FAO Mac Owners
Pretty certain that quad-core MBP's are coming out along with leopard annouced April 15th. Leopard is definite unless something really changes between now and then... been beta testing it for a while.
Dom, I would get a MBP but not the 17", way too big and doesnt travel well... no matter how thin they make them, it's just not a practical laptop size.Leave a comment:
