I believe the one he plays is a dub edit he made. in '05 he played it at the Mayan opening for Digweed and it did not have any vocals. The dr Kucho mix does.

Shame I like the non vocal one he made. I have the record but don't know how to remove the vocals..fucking noOb

        Sup BureOne,

It's definitely an edit of the Dr. Kucho track that Luke plays. It's really easy to make the cuts! I made a edit to the Dr. Kucho mix that is similiar to the one he plays that I had in one of my earlier sets (I can post that so you can hear it).

What you do is you overlay the song on two separate tracks in a sequencer. For instance, I lay the 1st half of the track before the vocals on audio track 1 and the 2nd half of the track (after the vocals) on audio track 2, with a very slight overlap between the two cuts. If you use Ableton Live, I can send you the file so you can see what i mean. all you need to do is load your track sample in and it should play perfectly!

hey kamilo, as far as i know... there is no dub... you just gotta take the original and edit out the vocals on your own. i wouldn't mind sharing my ableton live file that shows you how to do this, but you need to have your own sample.

              Yo!

yeah see Im a big time noob when it comes to editing tracks. I dont have any real software for that. I used to have a pirated version of Ableton Live and I used to have SoundForge (heard you can edit tracks with sf). Ever since I re-built my pc and dont have those two things.

So I get the track 1 and track 2 split thing of the original but overlaying both on my own track sample? wha?

Please pm me the mix you made so I can hear your edit of it.

when I first heard this track at the Mayan (he played it a bit slow) it was one of the best fucking tracks he played, it was maybe an hour into his set, dude in a big soundsystem it sounded really sweet....

He's also made a sick edit of this track: SLK - Hype Hype (Tom Neville mix). The original is a piece of crap. The neville is the best from the lot, but Luke really made it a lot better. He also played it that night.

He pretty much removed all the vocals as well and kept just one small part of it

I used to have a video clip of that very track and the Bahia one as well from that night, shame I lost all my vids from then...

yeah Luke's great at doing that! That Tom Neville remix is on a 2005 mix in Brazil. Love that set!

He also took out the god-awful vocals on the Kidd Creme - The Game [Kidd's Piano mix]. so many countless other tracks made infinitely better by the simple edits... oh yeah, my favorite edit is the one he did of the situation 2wo track "If You Can't Sleep". I heard the version he played, then went to buy it, and found it came with crap vocals!

anyway, it's pretty simple to do. if you want, i can show you sometime. i enjoy your mixes and if you can figure out how to edit a lot of crap in otherwise great songs, you'll have a totally wider range of tracks to mess with!

You can download the mix with the Bambia edit here:

                  55 minutes in.

I'll see if i can recreate the edit in future post.

I downloaded your mix, not bad btw. I can see who your favorite dj's are

That was a pretty good edit you made of it. How long is it? Seemed a little over 3 min? I think Lukes might be longer with a small breakdown in the middle.

Dont remember if your's had one, good job

Thanks! I definitely have my inspirations and influences. Trying to branch out a bit, but man.. I can't help it if Luke plays such awesome tunes and that I like them too.

The edit is 6:20. I'd check your inbox soon though ;-)
